Agree. . .these folks are professional and honest and Brit hosts the best 'news of the day'.

I always look forward to Krauthammer; and wish he were on more. . .that must be quite a committment on his part; not just the 'intellectual'. . .but the sheer physicality of preparing for his appearance.

I watch Special Report every day. If I miss the six o'clock show, I have to stay up for the re-run at midnight.

Mort seems to be a Joe Lieberman Democrat...not quite as strong on America's values as Zell Miller, but definitely NOT a whackjob Howard Deaniac, either.

This is a great cartoon. Reminds me of the OLD "Mad" magazine stuff.

Great to hear what is going on with some of my favorite news shows...we were moving from NY to Fl this summer and canceled our cable....well we never moved and still no cable tv...(free lance musician budgets are tough sometimes!)
I find that I really miss some of the conversation and banter of info....otherwise I get my news on FreeRepublic, Drudge etc...
Is Juan Williams still there? I found him rather childish in his discourse.

"I can't really figure out Mort's political position..."

I don't think that is the lens to observe him through. He reports his observations clearly and thoughtfully. He has a brain. Mara has a bird-brain. Fred Barnes looks like he had a tummy full of steak the last few weeks. Sometimes Fred repeats things Rush said earlier like "club Gitmo". LOL! Brit Hume is good with this bunch.

Mort's a lib, but he can be reasonable at times.

FYI, I wasn't viewing him through any lens, so to speak, it was just a plain question. My point in mentioning it is that he doesn't seem to come from an ideological perspective.

I like Barnes but take him with a grain, as he does as you describe and echoes Rush. And Brit is pretty funny the way he can slap down Juan Williams so casually.

Juan Williams appears as a lib, but I bet he doesn't live like one.

"I just want to help him spit it out sometimes."

Seems there must be something in the water at FOX News. Fred, Brit and Mort all seem to struggle to spit out their words from time to time. Then we have Mara who has that darn cough. What a team!

LOL I happen to work at a place full of liberals, in (non-government) social services. I also have two friends who aren't really that friendly with me anymore.

I probably live the "poorest" lifestyle of all those people, who rail against Bush and corporations. Meanwhile, the folks I work with all make more than I do, and my friends both work for major corporations.

One reason libs hate conservatives so much is because conservatives basically say "You're free to live as you like, just leave me alone," and thus even if they live expensive lifestyles, you can't call them hypocrites. Liberals, on the other hand, denounce the very lifestyles they lust after.

It's very pleasing to not only enjoy my job but to watch people's heads explode as they try to find a way to call me out, while they live in glass houses and I own the stone concession.

Good analysis. Ideology and partisanship seem welded together these days, it is easy to forget they aren't the same thing.

Kondracke seems to be learning an awful lot real fast lately - last week on Fox News he quoted somebody's op-ed piece about the Vietnam war which explained that after the Tet offensive the US won every major battle in Vietnam and left South Vietnam strong enough to hold off the North, only to have victory thrown away by 'rats in the Senate who refused to provide promised funding to support the South's military - Mort went through all this with a bit of wonder in his voice as though he were just learning about it - better late than never, Mort........

And then we have John Kerry who's back in the picture

I bet you didn't know that John "kill em all" Kerry served in Viet-Nam?

Katrina was obviously caught off guard and she said there were such advances happening in Saudi Arabia before we invaded Iraq, and our invasion stymied them.

She should be asked to provide sources for this statement.

I follow this kind of thing, and I don't recall seeing anything about it.

"JFK had some good ideas for the Country...

45 years later, though, he would not be a Democrat; because he loved his country's well-being.
