I Just found this at www.scooop.net: Western scientists are beginning to discover what has been documented by Eastern sages and mystics for thousands of years; that within nature exists an interconnecting field that interweaves every atom, cell, organism, and mind, throughout time The Akashic Record.
The dimensional door is not open....
Its true. He who created everything saw to it.
Heh heh, they said 69....
Thine own intellect, blissful and shining is the clear light
of reality.
I KNEW I put that somewhere....
After reading "The Age of Spiritual Machines" by Ray Kurzwiel, I've struggled with the idea of a soul. In the book he goes into great detail about how our race will integrate ourselves so fully with technology that it will be impossible to distinguish the two.
The way that he describes that this will occur leads me to wonder what the soul is. Just a quick synopsis, but if you are interested, read the book, I highly recommend it.
Basically the one that causes me the most trouble (especially as what I consider an "early-adopter" of new technology) is the memory implant. Our brain is what distinguishes us from the rest of the creatures on the planet. Our self-awareness gives us what we need to create our entire society. Now if my knowledge is transferred entirely into memory chips, and my phsysical body dies, do I still exist? Will I experience this death, or will I continue to live, at least in my own mind, is it still my mind? He barely touches these topics but I'm torn on it.
Which is why Liberals come from, and share a different place. . .
Consciousness as source for communication between computer and biological lifeforms
It's all good.
When exactly does "skynet" take over?
42.
"Generations after generations of humans have left their holographic traces in the A-field. These individual holograms integrate in a super hologram, which is the encompassing hologram of a tribe, community, or culture. The collective holograms interfaces and integrate in turn with the super-superhologram of all people. This is the collective information pool of humankind."
I was about 19 and a nursing student when I first REALLY believed in God.
I was taking anatomy and physiology, in particular studying the Endocrine system. The intelligence and communication between cells...the balancing act(s) going on all day every day inside us is astounding. I remember listening to the professor and sitting in my seat just smiling..it was my first "a-ha" moment.
What struck me then, as now, is why every scientist in the world wasn't/isn't a devoutly religious person...
When exactly does "skynet" take over?
I'm not sure, but I'll be back...
Don't get too torn up about it, because no one is ready to transfer your memories into a chip, so you are extremely unlikely to ever experience the answer to this question. You are far more likely to die the old fashioned way.
I thought it was 43? No?
I am glad this subject is getting traction. It should.
Same ol' nonsense.
Take some more acid, man.
"I checked it very thoroughly," said the computer, "and that quite definitely is the answer. I think the problem, to be quite honest with you, is that you've never actually known what the question is."
