Clinton's Failures
In his speech before the Freedom Alliance, Franks didnt hold back criticism of the Clinton Administration, specifically for its failure to respond to terrorist attacks against Americans. Among the reasons he cited for the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon:
The 1983 terrorist bombing in Beirut, Lebanon, which killed 220 Marines and 21 other U.S. service members;
The first bombing of the World Trade Center in New York in 1993;
The United States decision to leave Mogadishu, Somalia, in disgrace in 1993 following the deaths of 19 U.S. soldiers;
The 1996 terrorist bombing of Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia, killing 19 U.S. servicemen;
The 1998 U.S. embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya by al Qaeda, killing more than 200 Africans;
And the 2000 attack by al Qaeda on the U.S.S. Cole, which killed 17 sailors.
American history is full of occasions where weve found it fit to recognize there is something worth going to war for, Franks said. And our freedom and our liberty is of that stub. We didnt do it in 83, 93, 96, 98 or 2000.
I stand here tonight as a proud Americanproud of the fact that subsequent to 2001, this country, you and I, said and have maintained in the political process that we would do whatever is necessary to buy the next 200 years of freedom and liberty for our grandchildren and for their grandchildren and for generations yet unborn.

Some are up to it and other are not, Unfortunately you didnt make the grade. My views about Republican politicians are held by quite a few in here. Nothing spineless about Republican voters ,its the politicians we elect who turn out spineless. But you already know that.
You do as good a job at ignoring posts as you do at researching.
As an aside, I see that Jim Davis is running for Governor. I'm not sure if that means he's not running for Congress, but either way, this would be Franks' opportunity. Do you know his email address? I'll suggest it to him.
The '83 event was one of our guys, but still, Franks is right on. I can't get over that all the Dems are suddenly so strong on the cut and run plan. Ready to give victory to Al Qaeda in hopes that will bring them election victories. They are trying to create a self fulfilling prophecy of defeat, as they did in Vietnam. Talk about stinking corruption.
What Clinton did didn't phase the terrorists one bit. It didn't prevent further acts of terror in the US or against US targets. All he did was launch a few cruise missiles into Afghanistan but the results were neglible. You can't deal with terrorists because they have nothing that they can give. The world has seen what can happen when people such as this get in power. Look at Germany under Hitler, Russia, China and Cambodia under the communists (Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot) and Afghanistan under the Taliban. How many people were murdered because of trumped up accusations. Look at Iraq. I don't think we're aware of the extent of the brutality of the Hussein regime. He used chemical weapons on the Iranians and Kurds. After Hussein lost during Desert Storm one of the terms was he was to open his country up to UN inspectors to confirm that he had destroyed his WMD and nuclear programs. He hindered the inspectors at every turn. He was given 12 years to come clean and he refused. When a person has used chemical weapons and then impedes the efforts of people trying to confirm that he has destroyed them according to a treaty he signed he gives the appearance that he has something to hide. Just because we haven't found WMD in Iraq doesn't mean he didn't have them. He never proved to anybody that he destroyed them. If he had let the inspectors do their job he'd probably still be in power today. It would have been a lot harder to convince Congress to agree to attack him because of ties to terrorists than it was to convince them with the WMD argument. This is what the left does not understand or refuses to understand. The cost of freedom isn't cheap but the loss of freedom can be even costlier.
