The U.S. military says it has arrested a leading member of al-Qaida in Iraq known as "the Butcher."
Marine officials in Ramadi said Amir Khalaf Fanus was wanted for murder and kidnapping, and was No. 3 on a most-wanted list for Ramadi drawn up by the military.
In a statement, Capt. Jeffrey Pool called Fanus the highest-ranking al-Qaida-in-Iraq member to be turned in by local citizens.
According to Pool, Iraqi and U.S. forces have seen "increasing signs" of citizens fighting insurgents in Ramadi as the Dec. 15 elections approach. Pool believes Fanus' capture is another example of that.

The taste of Freedom is sweet and the taste of terrorism is of spoiled me, no surprise this is happening.
Iraq will be one of our strongest allies when full sovereignty is achieved in a society grateful for being saved from the hell Saddam and his henchmen made them endure for decades.
Freedom is not free and those who achieve it will not give it up to dictators and warlords without a fight of life and death.
This precious freedom is held in the hearts of all real Americans who understand the great sacrifices our soldiers make and we should always respect and honor them and their families who share their children, sons and daughters in the name of freedom.
God Bless our soldiers and our president who must make these difficult choices such as war. No president wants war but each must understand the necessity and be willing to act when the time comes.
Our president didn't have to go through Congress in order to send our troops to war, he did so out of the desire to have everyone on the same page and they did, democrats and republicans alike signed onto the need for our troops to be sent into action. Now the the democrats want to think otherwise depending on which way the political winds blow according to skewed polling data.
The Democrats have shown the cannot be trusted with the security of our nation as they stand now with the core of their party comprised of extreme radical anti-American Liberals who wish nothing more than our destruction and the shredding of our Constitution in favor of a socialist state void of the will to defend itself without international approval of the most spineless weasels the planet has to offer.

Iraqis that have a little taste of freedom like it and now want more. So it follows that if someone (Fanus) is standing in the way they would try and remove him.
Good for the Iraqis! You go guyz!!

I guess these people failed to get Barbara Boxer's message of the importance of an Al-Qaeda victory in Iraq.
