SAN DIEGO -- There's controversy over how the military is transporting the bodies of service members killed overseas, 10News reported.
A local family said fallen soldiers and Marines deserve better and that one would think our war heroes are being transported with dignity, care and respect. It said one would think upon arrival in their hometowns they are greeted with honor. But unfortunately, the family said that is just not the case.
Dead heroes are supposed to come home with their coffins draped with the American flag -- greeted by a color guard.
But in reality, many are arriving as freight on commercial airliners -- stuffed in the belly of a plane with suitcases and other cargo.

well, it didn't say banned it said "revoked." I realize my firt posting was rather angrily worded, but these people really ARE patriots. I'm not sure why so many people were hesitant to believe their story.
I realize I may get banned again once someone reports me as coming back (and I'm certain that someone will). But I did want people to be able to see that this is a sincere family who is trying to help all service people.
Also, I think my point about so many people taking the media's bait was a good one. When we start blasting people who agree with us, what does that mean? If it continues, republicans will lose the white house, I guarantee it.
I'd read about them, and I knew his parents were both former military.
I think it is awful for the DoD to send our fallen warriors back that way. Makes me sick. If someone can give their life for our country, willingly, the least we can do for them and their family is make sure they are shown the respect they deserve, are honored properly, and laid to rest with all the dignity they've earned.
I'm glad you came back, I hope you stick around and read and share your ideas.
Sometimes its good to take a deep breath before posting.
Welcome to FR.
Oh, and I'm glad they are working to get things changed for other families.
Thank you for the netiquette lesson.
OK... I read the new article, and I'm still missing the part about how there was any disrespect being shown?
I agree. Fly them home on military aircraft with proper respect.
