My experience has been that if you don't answer the door immediately, they leave. Most of the time they don't even knock, just leave one of their tracts. I theorize that they don't try harder because since only 144,000 are supposed to be saved, any new convert is competition for a slot.

It's a weird cult, and there are quite a few bad things about it, like a propensity for child abuse among some of the leaders. But be that as it may, what this woman did was way out of line, and I'm glad she got the book thrown at her.

To my shame I'm not very swift when it comes to quoting scripture. I suppose it's a good opportunity to witness to the lost, but I'm the last person to try to guide someone to G-d.

I don't have the patience nor the strength of faith.

Besides, with the way I look, most people think they're in grave danger from the moment I open the door. ;-)

I had a sign on the door, "I work night shift, please don't ring doorbell before 4 PM". They did, twice, and left before I could get dressed. The third time, I did not get dressed, just answered the door, I never heard from them again.
