This was the image of the car magnet for sale on the OFFICIAL Washington State Democrat Party website.
The image has been taken down since Dori called Party Chairman Paul Berendt and asked him to explain why it was being sold.
Dori is streaming live at kiro710.com. Click on the KIRO link to see his latest post.
Not sure if you saw, but if you go to my original KIRO link, you can see the original page.
How long will it be before this anti-Christian nonsense segues into anti-semitism?
It will sooner or later; if you think of Judaism as the parent and Christianity as the child, well, when a person hates the child, they are bound to hate the parent as well.

wooden...read it again. I think you might have misinterpreted Danny's column.
Disclaimer: I do not respect a grown man named "Danny."
The addressee is the left's icon for a religous whacko, not Danny's own pastor.
In that paragragh he states that the only place Americans are likely to hear about Jesus's birth is in the "retail core" (stores), clearly indicating we're a bunch of ignorant hypocrites who don't go to church or read the bible.
The middle of the body of text beginning with "I hope so, for Jesus sake, but I have my doubts" clearly inferes that Jesus is losing. This is the rallying cry of Satan & the liberal movement.
It ends with "And here's what's truly sad. After we are persecuted from the malls, how are we supposed to observe the birth of the Lord? What's left for us? Just church? The family hearth?
I can't imagine what Jesus would have said about that."
My emphasis added, I think this speaks for itself.
The article was designed to mislead some readers into thinking he was a self effacing Christian tired of the "hype" while being a very clear slap at Christians who recognize Westneat for the pompous ultraliberal troll that he is.
A) Everyone is a hypocrite, to some degree, regardless of worldview. A secularist (who best represents "them") is every bit as inconsistent in doing good to another human being as a professing Christian who does evil. The former is violating the evolutionary tenet of "survival of the fittest": logically, one who believes in that should be the most selfish, avaricious, and ruthless person around. Thankfully, few live this consistently.
B) Democrats are nominally anti-Christian, their protests to the contrary notwithstanding. These silly tokens exemplify that. They are the party, first and most significantly, of organized mass-execution of the unborn (under the ridiculous rubric of "choice" - Tookie Williams made a "choice"). They are the party of the dissolution of absoultes. They are the party of nihilism, oblivion.
They are the party of hate.
They can ridicule all they want. They have no hope to offer in place: what is the hope of the old man, dying of a terminal illness, without the very thing so derided here? They are to be pitied.
PING.

James Taranto's "Best of the Web Today" in the WSJ runs this item:
Donkeys vs. Christians
Blogger David Carson reports that the Democratic Party of Washington state last week was offering for sale car magnets showing the familiar Christian fish symbol--only inside the fish appears the word HYPOCRITE and a cross against a background of red-orange flames.
Presumably the cross-burning imagery is unintentional. Even so, the politics of this are puzzling. To be sure, there are people with a strong distaste for Christianity, and especially for Christian conservatives, but this is a fairly small group, and the vast majority of them surely vote Democratic anyway. According to Adherents.com, 82% of Americans are Christians. It's hard to see how a political party can hope to build a majority by alienating four-fifths of the electorate.
We guess this occurred to the Dems, who quickly removed the offending magnet from its Web page advertising it--but not before radio host Dori Monson saved a copy.
MY NOTE: UPDATE - Monday, 12-12-05, 2 P.M. PT
Still no response from the State Democratic Party.
Not sure if you saw the update.
Thanks for posting that link to adherents.com, very informative.
Still no response from the State Democratic Party.
Dori gave out their number today and asked his listeners to politely call and complain:
Telephone 206 583 0664
Fax 206 583 0301
Email info@wa-democrats.org
The state party chairman's name is Paul Berendt.
I doubt you'll see a response.
Will post any response I get.
Paul Berendt has agreed to come on Dori's show right after the top of the hour:
KIRO 710, 710KIRO.com, Seattle, 1 p.m. PT
Let us know what transpires, please.
Notice how the Times calls it a "parody" -- if it had been any other group maligned, it would have been "hate speech."

Democrats under fire over fish parody By Ralph Thomas
Seattle Times Olympia bureau
OLYMPIA The state Democratic Party is catching heat for posting an item on its Web site that parodies the popular Christian fish symbol commonly seen on the back of cars.
The item a magnetic version of the fish, emblazoned with flames and the word "Hypocrite" alongside a cross appeared last week on the Democrats' Web site. It was displayed along with other political-message magnets, bumper stickers and buttons that the party sells.
State Democratic Party Chairman Paul Berendt said he first found out about the hypocrite fish posting on Friday when someone from KIRO radio called to ask him to go on the air to give an explanation.
"The moment I became aware of it, I insisted it be taken down," Berendt said Tuesday. "I'm sorry if anyone was offended. It's embarrassing."
Berendt said the item had not been "properly vetted" and was on the Web site for less than 48 hours. He said the party didn't even have any of the magnets in stock.
"We didn't sell any of them, and we're not going to," he said.
State Rep. Doug Ericksen, R-Bellingham, put out a news release Tuesday criticizing the Democrats for posting what he described as an "anti-Christian" symbol.
"It's just amazing that they have people sitting in their office who think that way," Ericksen said. "You would never see anything on a Republican Web site demeaning Judaism or the Islamic faith."
The fish magnet is copyrighted by a Mount Vernon company called Reefer Magnets. The company mostly sells magnets with pro-marijuana messages such as "Hemp is Patriotic" and "Jesus is coming, roll another joint."
Berendt said he wasn't sure what the fish symbol is supposed to mean but said he thinks it is aimed at "people who claim to be pro-life but are for the death penalty."

Hilarious photo of Christine Gregoire!
Amazing how many people think that pro-life and pro-death penalty are contradictory positions. Can't they differentiate between an innocent baby and a criminal with a trial and conviction?
