"This has become a platform for Saddam to show himself as a caged lion when really he was a mouse in a hole," said Vice President Ghazi Yawar. "I don't know who is the genius who is producing this farce. It's a political process. It's a comedy show."
In Charles Krauthammers column today, he assails the stupidity of allowing Saddam Hussein, in his trial for crimes against his country, to turn the tables in the reporting of this trial away from the crimes of Saddam Hussein, to the illegitimacy of the prosecutors and the court itself.
Framing the above quote of the Iraqi Vice President, the reader is supposed to wonder how it came to be so.
Has it really been that long? Have Americans forgotten what they endorsed, back in those weeks? Will no one cry out about the emperors blue cocktail dress with the stains on it?
James Carville and his team of attack pigs created the new reality of vandalizing ones own country, in order to protect the head swine. Should Saddam not have noticed? Surely by now we finally understand that by deciding it would be politically most expedient not respond to 8 years of attacks on Americans during the Clinton Administration, (since the victims were only military people, and therefore nobody important), that Saddam and the like-minded murderers of the Middle East were tele-schooled, via correspondence courses,(by correspondents of the media), in American impotence.
How can he not also make the connection that the 69 decibel attack works? Of course it would be easier if Saddam could also pump up the accusations about rape rooms against him. He could enlist cretins like Carville and his like to trash the Arab victims as the sort of sluts, (wave a 20 dollar bill through a collection of nomad tents, and youll find all sorts of tent-trash ). After all, it would all be about sex. It wouldnt be long before the media would ignore what crimes were committed against the Iraqi people, and concentrate on what excites them the most sex crimes.
Soon, the media would loop-play all of the accusations of the Carville-cretins that the prosecutor and his team, the Iraqi equivalent of Judge Ken Starr, were out of control, and that the whole proceding was a farce. That Saddam needs to get on with the business of the Ameri- uh, the Iraqi people, requiring him to make, in a totally unrelated matter, deals with the Chinese to open up U.S. markets to Chinese products.
Obviously this kind of extreme spin requires the same co-operation accorded to the Clinton attack team. But why should Saddam consider that unrealistic? Even the Democratic Senators are on his side...
Once this corner is turned, and the focus shifts to the media demanding that the prosecutors defend themselves, Saddam needs only to sit back and look Presidential.
Our media never had any interest in exposing the crimes of the selling of our military technology to the Red Chinese. Our media never had any interest in the reciprocal Chinese money which poured into the Clinton coffers, through the poverty-bound Buddist temple contributions to Al Gores buckets. Once the Al stated that he just didnt realize that that was a political function, all charges of money-laundering shifted to bad people, like Tom Delay, where it should have been all along
Saddam has had a chance to jot down entire notebooks full of the Mainstream Media manipulation techniques. Why hire any media experts? There is no organization more childish, more predictable and more tunnel-visioned than the American leftist media. Experts arent required. Hell, I could do it for him. Any of us keyboard historians could. Simply because we watched the original version
before Spielberg colorizes it.
