A few times, I've sat in my car at the light at 63rd and Cicero watching a plane come in low and wondering if it's the last thing I'll ever see.I grew up around the "K" streets and 52nd. Planes would literally come in and take off right over the house. My parents still live there. Can't tell you how many phone conversations were interupted by a "hold...there's a plane!" LOL.

That's got to be Photo-shopped. Surely a plane would never come that close to a crowded beach!

I'm not much of a beach bum, but I would sit on that
beach and watch THAT show for hours.

Perhaps the ugliest paint scheme in transportation.

Really? I was just thinking, what a pretty bird. I think they really out did themselves with Shammu(ms?) though:')

Southeast corner - 63rd and Cicero.FYI...Technically that White Castle is on the Northeast corner; I drive by it everday. ;)

I don't know if it's real or not.
But if it were, I'd want to sit and watch.

I'm glad that aviation expert Joe Scarborough has already determined that clearly the airport, airline, and first responders (and soon perhaps even God) were woefully unprepared for such weather and incident.

The northeast corner of the airport is 55th and Cicero! Southeast corner is 63rd and Cicero. The White Castle really, really, is at the southeast corner! Trust me!

It's real, just taken with a 400mm lens which compresses perspective and makes everything look much closer together.

Sorry...you were corrected enough times on that one...must be craving the sliders!
BTW whoever posted the "Blizzard of '05" post was more on the mark than I thought. Initial forecasts called for 2-3 inches...there was at least 8-10 on the ground an hour ago...and its still coming down.

At the southeast corner of the airport, there is an intersection. At the northeast corner of that corner there is the White Castle.

Plane come in behind my house. They are far enough back that they aren't loud but it's a nice view esp when air shows going on. There is this one huge military plane that goes out every few months. I guess they do landings and take off because it's all day when it's flying. It's been so low I can see rivets. It scared me bad the first time I saw it. How anything that big stays up...anyway the plane looks like it struggles to me and I thought the first time I saw it, that the plane was crashing.
