This is coming from a witness who called into CNN. She claims to have been told that by authorities at the scene. Unofficial, but either she's lying or they were lying.

Back the, I'd leave at 9:00 or 10:00 for a night out and not come home until 5:00 or 6:00 the next morning. Now, I'm usually home by 9:00 or 10:00!!

Hopefully, she misunderstood.

I heard on Fox News (who is now covering it completely), that there were 2 vehicles involved - one is pinned under a wing? They mentioned noone on the plane was hurt - if the eyewitness saw bodies - perhaps they were just injured people being moved? I hope so. How awful.

I hope the pilot has his turn signals on.
Hope he paid his Chicago parking permit already too otherwise that plane is going to get towed.

That's 31C. Reminds me of the approach to 27 at Lindbergh.

That's what Dustin Hoffman said in Rainman. Quantas had a perfect safety record, the only airline he would fly on.

Makes Laguardia's runways look lengthy. LaGuardia had a number of runway mishaps about 10 years ago, so the Port Authority built a 700 foot platform over the water and its been fine since. Something about a margin of safety.

This is an example of effective use of the futures and options markets, shifting the risk of commodity price volatility from the end user to the speculators and oil companies and producers.
