When did they give it up? The "anti-war" (read as anti-American) left captured the Democratic party in 1972 and hasn't let up since even though none of their favorite "New Leftists" have ever won - both Carter and Clinton won as southern moderates.

Ha! I knew it was no coincidence. Much like that worthless movie "The American President" and the ever liberal "West Wing" tried to make people like Clinton more, President Geena Davis is trying to make people comfortable with Hillary. The truth is, she will not win a single republican vote and is at best a very long shot in any state that went red in the last two elections. She might just as well be herself. The life story of both Clintons is having it both ways. In this case it is tougher. She does not have Bill's gift of BS and the issue demands a forthright policy statement.

What Hillary has going for her is the absolutely craven way the MSM avoids challenging her in even the smallest way.

If she was really smart, she would follow Leiberman, and support the war. Why? Cause the election isn`t today, it`s three years away. By that time, the bloody part of the war will be over, and the issues will have changed. By choosing this path, she won`t be hung with the cut and run label.

And, like her husband she's very good at persuading the lazy and ignorant. She did it in NY. Even if she wins the nomination (unlikely) she could still get better than 40% of the vote. Throw in a 3rd party candidate getting 10% because of all the spineless RINO's and we might have another Clinton/Bush/3rd-party race on our hands in 2008.

It all comes down to President Bush's "Republican" "leadership".
