225,000 is a strong number, and these numbers could increase faster once the Iraqi's have a core of experienced troops to train others.

Does anybody know what the next near term goal is?

Maybe 400,000 or so, with say about 10,000 American Troops in locations to support them.

"225,000 is a strong number, and these numbers could increase faster once the Iraqi's have a core of experienced troops to train others."

Sean Hannity had a military caller this afternoon who'd helped with the initial training of the Iraqi troops last year. He said they're basically training raw recruits, in which case the numbers are even more amazing. Kudos not only to our troops for their strength, but also to these Iraqis for their willingness to stand up for their country. And to all of those who bravely go out to vote!

I heard the exact same caller, its funny, because thats the only part of his show that I heard today.

Yeah, they are not going to be as good as our troops, because our troops are coming from an over 200 year tradition, and huge recent success, nobody can match our leadership and recent combat experience.

But thats exactly what we are transfering to the Iraqi Army, and those Iraqi's are getting the best available practical training that exists, almost one on one.

And they leave the classroom and go out in the field and practice what they have learned under our troops.

Mark my words, Iraq will be able to handle the terrorists, and they will pull out the stops once they are in charge of the hunt, they won't be a nice as our troops.

The election coming this could by the last gasp for the terrorists, they got to be running on empty.

I read an article somewhere (I don't think it was here on FR)that said when the Iraqi troops conduct a raid, there aren't many (or any) "prisoners" to bring in. I also saw the Fox special on the "other story" of Iraq, where one of their TV stations had a reality-type show on captured terrorists. Yes, they're not heavily into the PC line, and I can't say I blame them. If terrorists were in my neighborhood, I don't think I'd spend a lot of time chatting them up. One of Sean's guests was "Flipper" - don't know her real name - whose line was "guns are bad" and we should all get rid of them, and that she'd have tried to talk to that nutcase who was shot by the air marshalls and to bin Laden. What a ditz.

Re: Flipper

That's one thing, I mean I have a bone to pick with Sean over Flipper, she adds no value to his radio show.

Why would Sean pay her 40 grand or whatever she makes to sit there and be a huge ditz.

He could be using my wife instead, and she is to the right of Limbaugh, plus she is Irish Catholic.

What!? You mean that whiney woman "Flipper" is a "regular"? I rarely listen to Hannity's show because my favorite (Rush Limbaugh) station carries a local talk host in the afternoon, but that Flipper person really ticked me off.

She was on the show for quite a while, then my wife just updated me and said she went on to produce another show.

Sean just had her on as a guest.

What a waste of Radio Air Time.

I cannot believe anybody would hire her, she's a SUPER DITZ!
