Could it be the Republican Party has finally found its spine and is showing a bit of intestinal & testicualr fortitude? About damn time...only about 5+ years late...

FAT CHANCE
Trent Lott had MANY chances, ALL Squandered, Wasted or yes "USED TO HIS ADVANTAGE" sometimes I think the only actual scrotum complete with equipment intact in the Senate belongs to Joe Lieberman, and he is a Democrat.
I won't forget... ever!

On the other hand, thinking in election term cycles, the 2004 election was too close to the war for the RATs to make a stink and the DEMs weren't going to make in-roads with the cast of characters they ran.
The Pubbies allowed the RATs enough rope, and now is the time to ratchet up the politics in time for the 2006 primaries. It has to be that genius Rove at work again. He made sure the Pubbies kept their powder dry, knowing that Kerry/Dean/Reid/Pelosi just couldn't keep their fat traps shut and off camera.
I will say this: If the Pubbies planned all this, it sure takes a lot of discepline to take a beating until it was time to unleash.

Have you seen Steve King on CSPAN the past two nights? Last night was the best when he had huge posters of Zakarwi and another infamous terrorist with their quotes about defeating the Americans and then Steve had a huge poster of Howard Dean during his famous scream with a very similar quote.
It was precious.
