The United Nations held a "Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People" last week. A large map of “Palestine,” with Israel literally wiped off the map, featured prominently in the festivities.
The ceremony was held at the UN headquarters in New York and was attended by Secretary General Kofi Annan and the Presidents of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly.
During the festivities, a map labeled a "map of Palestine” was displayed prominently between UN and PLO flags. The map, with “Palestine” written in Arabic atop it, does not include Israel, a member of the UN for 56 years. The map does not even demarcate the partition lines of November 29, 1947, marking a Jewish state alongside an Arab state. The partition was dictated by the UN General Assembly itself.
With the map hanging behind him, Secretary-General Annan addressed the public meeting at UN Headquarters.

At the start of the ceremony, the dignitaries present asked attendees to observe a moment of silence. “I invite everyone present to rise and observe a minute of silence in memory of all those who have given their lives for the cause of the Palestinian people,” the master of ceremonies said, “and the return of peace between Israel and Palestine.“

I agree...I think that its time 4 the United States To start separating it self from the U.N. I feel that they are giving us Hints that we shouldn't be part of the U.N. anymore(very subtle hints)

Whenever I see trash like this, I wonder: When will American Jews realize they are supporting those who wish them to be gone? Every Jew I know is a liberal.

I wonder if the map was an error, an insult or a reflection of U.N. policy?
From their perspective I wonder if they feel like the partition has not happened? I know until a few years ago Israel was not a full member of the U.N. and couldn't sit on the security counsel. I think Israel's U.N. status even now is just temporary.

I know. Every friend I have that's Jewish is from NY and a liberal. I live in Kentucky. I can't fiqure it out. The majority of them think they should give up Israel! I keep telling them because God ordained it for them and these people want nothing more than to turn them into lamp shades! Of course, they think I'm extreme. I love the Jewish people as I'm commanded to do so by Christ, but man--the one's I'm friends with are thick as bricks!
Did President Bush not say that anyone who supported terrorist causes would be considered an enemy in the WOT? Is there not a portion of the UN (the IAEA) that actually has control and authority over WMDs all over the world?

The UN stands by as millions are slaughtered.
The UN administrators help themselves to millions of dollars that should go to feed and care for the starving and diseased.
The UN drops the US and adds countries that still allow slavery onto the UN "Human Rights Commission."
The UN honors terrorists, and condemns Israel and the Unitied States when they take action against the terrorists.
Bolton needs to kick some ass there, before announcing that they need to get out of NYC. Maybe NY could do something useful with the place, like building public housing, or a prison.

Hey, I've got an idea! Let's move Israel to Europe! But of course, they would have to take the remains of the Temple with them too. Too bad that it would probably mean the destruction of the Al Aqsa mosque! Nifty idea!
