ACLU Will Honor Judge Who Allowed Euthanasia of Terri Schiavo

Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- The national legal organization that helped Terri Schiavo's estranged husband win the right to euthanize her is awarding the local judge who made it possible. Circuit Judge George Greer is slated to receive an award from the Pinellas County chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union.

At an upcoming dinner, Judge Greer, who authorized Michael Schiavo to end Terri's life over the objections of her parents and family, will receive the Gardner W. Beckett Jr. Civil Liberties Award.

Judge Greer came under intense scrutiny in the Terri Schiavo case and was accused of colluding with Michael's attorney, assisted suicide advocate George Felos, in appointing an "impartial" doctor to assess Terri's condition whose brother had previously worked with Felos.

Terri's brother Bobby Schindler once told LifeNews.com about Greer, "With every hearing, it gets more obvious to me that this judge is working to insulate Michael Schiavo and, in the process, is causing harm to my sister and torturing my parents. God have mercy on other parents of disabled people in this jurisdiction."

The code says that, while a proceeding is pending in court, judges should not "make any public comment that might reasonably be expected to affect its outcome or impair its fairness or make any non-public comment that might substantially interfere with a fair trial or hearing."

Wesley J. Smith, an attorney who closely follows medical ethics issues, said, during the legal battle over Terri's life, that Judge Greer was performing terribly in the courtroom.

"As bad as Michael has been, in many ways, the performance of Judge George W. Greer of the Sixth Judicial Circuit, the jurist who oversees Terri's case, has been even worse," he explained.

"Over the years Greer has repeatedly allowed Michael to shirk his legal mandate as guardian to file annual prospective "guardianship plans," specifying his proposal for providing for Terri's medical and social needs for the coming year," he added.

"Judge Greer's performance has been so deficient that he should be removed from the case forthwith, if not impeached," he explained.

Judge Greer violated judicial canon 2 because the ACLU was at the counsel table with Michael Schiavo's attorney George Felos. By accepting an award from the ACLU, Greer is in receipt of an honor from a special interest.

It would take the FBI to list and bifurcate all the laws that Judge Greer violated and continues to violate. The ACLU helped kill Terri in Greer's courtroom and then they honor him.

AGAINST THE JUDICIAL CANONS but in Florida, nobody's in charge, not even Jebbie.

"Truthfully, this is disgusting. I disapprove of the euthanasia euphemism. Terri was murdered. What this judge allowed was a state execution. And then they tried to cover it up with a sham autospy declaring her brain dead. Well, of course she was brain dead after they were done starving her. The fact they wouldn't allow a second set of doctors to examine the autopsy results is mighty fishy if you ask me."

Yes NO ONE was allowed to witness their autopsy. If this was so clean cut, they would have ALLOWED that.

The fact that her parents were more than willing to care for her and release her husband of that, still didn't matter. I don't care is she was a "vegetable". Others that loved her wanted to care for her. This should NEVER have happened - her MURDER! As for her husband, screwing around with another woman, TWO kids and living with this woman - strongly suggests to me he had a conflict - need I mention the MONEY he was awarded and then how SUDDENLY when he got that MONEY, he wanted her dead.

I hope there is a special place in hell for people like that. In this situation:

Since justice was NOT served on this earth, Jesus will serve it. I'd ratehr be punished on this earth and repent rather than spending eternity in hell.
