This will likely backfire on them...it will gain them more votes in the Toronto area (which is already a Liberal stronghold) but kill them in key ridings outside the GTA...

It's a desperate attempt to control the agenda, and it will only strengthen the base, not help out in swing ridings. The 416 area code is not in play. It is the 519, 613 and 705 area codes (and, to a lesser extent, the 905 area code) that are, and this will not play well out there.

Hos83, thought area code 519 was Windsor, big time Liberal area. Also, didn't think handguns were allowed in Canada. I know we can't take any firearms across the bridge/tunnel from Detroit

Martin wants to lock up the female vote for the Liberals. So scaring voters about eevil guns is an easy promise to keep on the campaign trail. Any one remember the Liberals' promise to repeal the hated GST? The last twelve years of Liberal rule have been full of broken promises and this campaign offers no exception to that tradition.
