The best advice is that if you have a relative with a mental illness who looks like they are going to have an episode, skip the flight until they stabilize.

Better to stay in a hotel for the night than blow up in an airline terminal.

This is exactly what happened in this case from the way it looks. The wife knew , from what has been stated in the MSM , the man didn`t take his medication but let him get on the flight anyway. She must feel horrible about it now.

And what if you are traveling alone and have a disorder like this?

Relying on people to do the right thing never works.

I bet they change regulations on how Air Marshal`s deal with this type of situation but don`t release this information to the public.

This is the only solution I can think of that would help prevent an incident like this from occuring in the future and would not give terrorists clues on how to use the policy change to their advantage.
