The winter of 76-77 brought the only true blizzard of my lifetime. We had 3 feet of snow on level ground and didn't go to school for more than a week.

Oooh, I remember that. I was 7 years old. There were 4-5 foot snow drifts in my backyard. I was helping shovel the driveway and the wall of snow was so high I couldn't see the front door of the house when my Mom called to me. The adults were digging out the cars on the street, creating mountains of snow that seemed to me they were about 6 feet tall. We made huge twisting slides on them. Good times. Of course now that I'm one of the adults that has to shovel the stuff, I hate snow. ;-P

I remember this storm, actually chain of storms that put roughly 40 inches of snow in kansas in a little over a weeks time. Boy that was fun, snow forts and snowball fights. We would put on our converse and glide around on thesolid ice pack roads. The good times.
