Air force launches missile strike at vehicle in Gaza Strip, killing commander of military wing of Popular Resistance Commitees; Palestinian sources report another 10 injured, 2 in critical condition; 'Our response will be swift, hard, merciless and relentless,' group spokesman says
The Israel Air Force launched a missile strike Wednesday at a vehicle in the southern Gaza town of Rafah, killing the commander of the Popular Resistance Committees' military wing.
Two other activists were also in the car at the time of the strike.
Palestinian sources confirmed that Mahmoud al-Arkan, commander of the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, the Salah a-Din Brigades, was killed in the attack.
The sources added that 10 people were also wounded in the attack, including two in critical condition. Another three children aged 8-10 years were also injured, and are in moderate to serious condition.
IDF sources confirmed that the targeted killing was directed at al-Arkan, as he was involved in manufacturing Qassam rockets and mortar shells.
"Our blood continues to be spilled by the Israelis," spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees Muhammad Abd al-Aal told Ynet.
"The entire Israeli public will pay for what Sharon did this evening. Our response will be swift, hard, merciless and relentless," he declared.
Renewed targeted killings
Security sources told Ynet that the strike constituted part of a military effort to "turn on the heat" on terror organizations, as recently sanctioned by Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz.
The IDF has prepared accordingly, once Mofaz authorized the return of targeted killings, an army source said.
The IDF will launch targeted killings against any terror activists involved in planning attacks, or with the deployment of Qassam rockets and mortar shells, he added.
"The army will also continue to operate in northern Samaria, leaving no terrorist immune," he said.
Mofaz, Chief of Staff Dan Halutz and Shin Bet officials authorized the return of targeted killings of Islamic Jihad senior activists, following Monday's terror attack in Netanya.
Security officials also decided to "exert ongoing pressure on the terror organizations, and continue gathering intelligence and operative information."
Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.
Good shooting!
Good shooting!
Another sand monkey gets his 72 virgins...............
Yeah, I agree. It's amazing how often they're able to hit the target they aim for -- their intelligence on these bad guys is incredible.
The US gov't needs to be taking notes here. Let's see, 1) don't bow to "world opinion", and 2)take these clowns out anytime, anywhere, by any means necessary. I love it.
I really like the the IDF operates! Your walking down the street, minding your own business. Next thing ya know there is a missle coming outta nowhere that follows you around corners and blows you up!!!LOL
Not always, but it seems that after a suicide bombing that kills a bunch of Jews the IAF targets a Jihadist without being too concerned about collateral damage. In other words, the Israelis even the score. I have no problem with this
I would like to see the Israelis and the USA turn up the heat a few notches.
I guess the IDF hasn't yet received the Spielberg/Kushner memo that these tactics are questionable and don't do the Jews any good (other than ridding the world of another murdering terrorist and letting the other terrorist honchos know they will pay with their lives for killing Jews, that is).
....Good shooting!.....
The quality of the shooting pales in comparison with the quakity of the targeting.
Good targeting!!
Yap!
So Tony Kushner wrote the screenplay. This gay dude's claim to fame is "Angles in America" which is about AIDS. Somehow I think this movie will not give the Israel revenge response the respect and honor it deserves. This film will descend into the "cycle of violence" cliché
Read about more recent dreck from Kushner:

double oy! thanks!
Awful! This kooky Kushner guy is last guy I want as screenwriter in a movie about terrorism and the elimination of terrorists. I avoid nearly all St. Spielberg films
