First mistake - having the porn. Second mistake - going to Best Buy for repairs...

I can't comment on his guilt in this.
but where is the chain of custody for this computer, such that someone at the repair place at best buy couldn't copy those photos off a floppy to his system? and why are the repair techs scouring his hard drive for photos (of any kind) anyway?

I know nothing about him and he may be guilty but it sure sounds strange that he would have it on his computer and then take the machine in for repairs. Lot's of people may have had access . That may be why it messed up. Ours shuts down and I have to put a password to re-open. Not bad stuff but too many people were opening games and sites and we kept having to clean and reboot.

[Police said Fortino took his computer to a Best Buy store, in Fayetteville, Ark., to be repaired. Store technicians found several pictures of children engaged in sexual acts on the computer hard drive, officials said.]
Important question: Are these "children engaged in sexual acts" 10 year old children or 14 year old children or 17 year old children?
There are plenty of legal pornographic pictures of legal age participants in legal sex acts available for free instantaneous download, and many "collectors" simply download their porn in large batches assuming that there will be no obviously underage participants contained within.
My next question is: does it make sense that a person who has a collection of genuine "child pornography" on his computer take that computer to a computer technician knowing that it will likely be found?
I'm reserving any judgment until I have A LOT more information

Very sad. I attended a talk he gave for the Allegheny County Bar Association some years ago and he is quite the speaker.

Choosing a speaker is a very important decision.
Here are five reasons to choose Fortino...
1. Fortino is Experienced: Michael Fortino has been speaking for more than 15 years
2. Fortino is Prepared: Michael Fortino spends 150 hours on research prior to every speech
3. Fortino is Successful: Michael Fortino has built a multi-million dollar speaking/training firm
4. Fortino is Explosive: Michael Fortino receives a Standing Ovation at nearly every speech
5. Fortino is Celebrated: Michael Fortino will make you look good
.Your attendees will rave

In the end, it won't matter if he's absolutely innocent. Child porn is one of those crimes where simply being arrested for it effectively spells the end of the suspect's life.
Who knows, at this point, how the porn got onto his computer? Did he know it was there? Did he download it, or maybe one of his kids? Did the computer tech plant it there because he thinks the guy's a jerk?
Even if he is declared "not guilty" in court, the charges alone have destroyed his life.
After all that, if he is guilty, then his punishment was earned.

What possessed him? I mean men have an interest in naked women, I can understand - but naked children? There's something wrong with this guy. This story gives a whole new meaning to turning your life around... in the wrong direction!
