NEW ORLEANS (AP) - U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu is supporting two mothers who are trying to organize a march on Washington to call attention to the plight of Hurricane Katrina evacuees.
The senator's staff Tuesday said that the rally is tentatively scheduled for December 14th, but organizers have not yet received a permit from the National Park Service to hold the demonstration.
Landrieu's deputy communications director, Sally Richardson, says U.S. Representative William Jefferson is also supporting the rally. She says the proposed rally is a good way of reminding people in Washington about those who remain displaced after Katrina and can't go home.
The protest is being organized by two women who have been living in Pittsburgh because New Orleans schools are still closed.

Most of us have sent money to help victims. ALL of us have sent money in the form of federal dollars and mow this march demanding more. Now we are getting Got damned sick and tired of hearing about that POS city full of drunks ,queers , unemployed , and police criminals.
There are two other states Mississippi and Alabama that need help as badly or worse that New Orleans and Louisianna and we dont hear them crying and demanding every day.

I guess they'll be able to find buses for the march. Wonder if they've dried out any of those hundreds of school buses and city buses by now.

There are approximately 8,500 people needed for port operations.
Move everyone else out and turn that "state" into national forest area.
If that won't protect anything else, it will save We The People!

Oh, that's right, really piss people off by demanding more. The people of this country opened their hearts, homes and wallets to the folks of NO, then the pols started demanding billions and now the people are demanding, and everyone is getting so fed up they are going to be lucky if they get anything. I'm just furious about all of this.
Gee, 3 whole months have gone by and the city STILL isn't rebuilt! What a bunch of ungrateful morons!

Wasn't she ever arrested for threatening the President?
She is getting kinda chunky. Maybe because she is gorging on the thousands of MRE's she had diverted to her Basement.

Lake Charles, and SW Louisiana were devastated by Hurricane Rita. They have dealt with the aftermath unlike New Orleans with Katrina. The difference is the voter base for the Democrats is in NO.....That is why the politicians are in a panic.

Are you kidding? She's in the Senate. If "Turban" Durbin can get away with what he said what makes you think threatening the President is anything to worry about? That parliamentary bunch of elitist crooks watch out for each other.

Saw part of the hearing in the House today on Katrina...saw part of it too - a couple of those women were certifiable, especially the one who claimed that national guard troops were shown on CNN boasting the "we shot five of them today" - scary - these people get to vote, and elect people like Nagin and Blanco.........

well i sure hope they arent counting on using the NO school buses nagin left to drown. i am sorry for all the victims of these hurricanes we've had in our country this past year . funny how you dont hear the other states whining 24/7 like you hear La, NO, Blanco-arse & nagin the nagger. And now this one. maybe they should all take huge paycuts or better yet donate their paychecks to these people in need in their state. after all were they really doing their jobs to protect the people of their state, knowing full well this hurricane was coming? we had warning after warning. they didnt keep the levees up.I really dont know what those 2 do for LA but i dont live there . i dont think they do too much but blame everyone else & want more $$. I think they all had their heads up where i cant say. i truly feel for the people of LA but id be darn sure to impeach these people who let them down. sorry if ive offended anyone.

How about building the next one a little further below sea level. And make it in an earthquake zone while you're at it.

Saw part of the hearing in the House today on Katrina. They had a panel of "victims" that said the so called lack of help was racially modivated, that there was mass graves that hadn`t been disclosed yet, and that they were kept in concentration camps and guarded by troops with guns, and, if they were white, none of this would have happened. It was also GWB`s fault, of course, and their Mayor did a good job. This may surprise some of you, but they demanded MONEY, said they deserved it.
Thought you might want to know.
