Apple has the status of the iPod, but it's hefty marketshare is about to come to an end. Apparently the U.S. is set to be flooded with cheap, cheap, cheap players from China in the coming year.

You've been able to buy cheap, cheap, cheap MP3 players for some time now. It hasn't impacted Apple's iPod sales because the iPod is an excellent product at a reasonable price.

The thing about iPods is not only are they very good players they are a status symbol. Look at any college campus in America and you will see about every 3rd person with those white earbuds in. No one will think you are cool with a cheap Chinese knockoff. You need the real thing.

There are already cheap cheap players and knockoffs... The "Ipod is on its way out" crowd has been screaming for four years straight and yet the sales continue to increase..
