MEMRI: Terrorist and Inciting Messages on Yahoo
Special Dispatch - Jihad & Terrorism Studies Project December 6, 2005 No. 1039 Terrorist and Inciting Messages on Yahoo
Internet sites are one of the major platforms used by terrorist organizations for indoctrination and incitement. One of the sites used by Islamist terrorist organizations and activists is Yahoo (http://geocities.yahoo.com/) which rents space for users to construct their own websites.
This dispatch follows two reports released last year by MEMRI on "Islamist Websites and Their Hosts"(1), which resulted in several websites hosted in the U.S. being shut down.
Among the websites hosted by Yahoo is http://www.geocities.com/esknas/index.html, which features, among other things, the speeches of Al-Qaeda Leader in Iraq Abu Mus'ab Al-Zarqawi, and videos showing executions of hostages.
The front page of the site starts with the following message: "Oh believers, do not form an allegiance with the Jews and the Christians; they are allied with each other. He who forms an allegiance with them is one of them, and Allah will not guide the oppressors [Koran 5:51]. The jihad warriors mete out the punishment of Allah, be he praised, to the American and Jewish infidels, and to the murtaddun [apostates]."
The videos showing hostage executions are described as "[showing] the slaughter, by jihad fighters, of infidel Christian and Jewish agents, murtaddun, spies, traitors, corrupt [individuals], [members of] the murtadd National Guard, enemies of Islam and of the Muslims and Shi'ite infidels."
The list of videos available on the site includes:
"Execution of Nick Berg Slaughter of Jack Hansley Execution of an American spy Slaughter of [Eugene] Armstrong Execution of Syousei Kouda Slaughter of Paul Johnson Slaughter of Kin Sun [II] Slaughter of a murtadd Slaughter of an American from the CIA Slaughter of the Jew Daniel Pearl Slaughter of a Nepali Slaughter of Kenneth Bigley Slaughter of a murtadd... Slaughter of a murtadd engineer Slaughter of 11 [members of] the National Guard..."
Another Islamist website hosted on Yahoo, which seems to be affiliated with the aforementioned site, is http://www.geocities.com/mojahedoon35/ . This site features speeches by Osama bin Laden and Abu Mus'ab Al-Zarqawi, as well as a guide for building and operating weapons(2) and links to other Islamist sites.(3)
The Islamist terrorist organizations also make use of Yahoo in other ways: they disseminate their messages on Yahoo forums and form discussion groups for purposes of indoctrination and incitement. An example is the group called Modjahede http://groups.yahoo.com/group/modjahede/, which includes links to Islamist sites, to videos distributed by terrorist organizations(4) and to guides for building and operating conventional and nuclear weapons.(5)

No big surprise here. I got my nifty tagline from the rantings of a Islamofascist on a MSN group. He didn't like it that the Threat Matrix was looking at them. Funny how the cockroaches always get defensive when you shine the light on them.

"Terrorist and Inciting Messages on Yahoo"
Your tagline is way better than mine.
I checked out the first website mentioned in the MEMRI article, http://www.geocities.com/esknas/index.html, and got in just before it was locked out for reasons of excessive data transfer-- I have it cached if anyone is interested; freepmail me if so.
I was grimly amused at the link at the bottom: "Vote for us!" --which a review of the HTML code reveals as a little popularity-polling service run by CGI host HostedScripts.com. The category appears to be called "topislam".
...I thought it might be interesting to know what their stats are... and what other sites are vying for ranking in that category.
Clicking the vote link reveals that their username is "ghetal". Guess I voted for Mr. Ghetal, then.
Googling on "ghetal, topislam" yields http://members.hostedscripts.com/top.cgi?user=topislam which is the ranking page for the category topislam, and a resource in itself ...and our friend ghetal is #2. I sure hope our intel agencies are doing the same sort of investigation:
#1 is taliban-online.info, which appears to be down (or was taken down).
#3 is "Al-Muwahideen Islamic Urdu Website, Global Islamic information of Quran and Sunna, MUWAHIDEEN.TK: An Educational website about Tawheed and Sunnah of Prophet". It has some interesting links of its own, such as to http://sultan.org/ ("Discover Islam - The Fastest Growing Religion in the World!")
#5 isn't even a website, it's http://www.boards.jp/web/xuang/AMEEL.WMV --a lengthy and super-violent propaganda video which you SHOULD NOT WATCH (I'm warning you in the strongest terms). Though lower on "votes" than our friend ghetal's site, it appears to have the highest number of hits of all.
The links on the ghetal site discussed in the MEMRI article (and again I highly recommend you DO NOT click its links, as some things cannot be un-seen) are not hosted on geocities. They are links to videos etc stored elsewhere. There appears to be multiple links offered for each beheading, etc., presumably to guard against sites that get shut down or maybe to provide different views or formats. Thoughtful of 'em.
Yours has an important truth. Not all Muslims are terrorists, but nearly all terrorists are Muslim.
Does Terrorist 007 aka Irhabi 007 aka variations of the 007 yahoo? Yep.
