However, said Lucey, "You‘ve got to give him points for writing" to set the record straight.

Who cares about a letter. Did he give refunds? You know, "put your money where your mouth is".

Hospitals are still dispensing aspirin at around $20 a tablet, and that's WITH disclosing what it really is. This guy's scummy, but the entire medical profession is being driven into ruin by socialist policies. Insured families would probably have to pay $10 out of pocket to buy this stuff at a drug store and self-treat, but the same insurance companies were probably happy to pay the doctor $285 minus co-pay of $5-10 for "diagnosis" and "treatment" at his office -- and wouldn't pay him a penny if a parent called the same doctor, and he told them over the phone to just go to the drug store and buy a $10 bottle of skin cleanser.

Head Lice Home Remedies

We have only had to deal with head lice once, that was enough! And I went balistic. Anyway, I got a list from the Dr. of things to do in the house. On that list was the use of Lysol brand disinfectant spray instead of the more expensive lice spray for spraying furniture, carpets, pillows, ect. after vacuuming. It worked! To this day I vacuum furniture then spray with lysol. It also kills fleas, we have dogs and although they don't have fleas, I take no chances.- Becky Wright

Instructions: Wash the hair, apply mayonnaise all over hair and scalp, cover your head with a plastic bag,and keep on overnight. The next morning, rinse the hair and comb out with a lice comb. All the lice will come off as well as the nuts. I found this remedy on the internet amongst American mothers and housewives. Here in South Africa it is still unknown, but after I have tried it, it really works.-South Africa

Ingredients: Avon Skin So Soft Bath Oil Instructions: Several years ago there was an out break of head lice in my childs school. Avon Skin So-Soft has always been know as something good to put on people and pets to repel insects. I sprayed it in my childrens hair, rubbed it in and let it stay for about 15 minutes then wash out with shampoo. No need for second treatment kills eggs also.-USA

Ingredients: Vegtable Oil or Olive Oil and Kerosene Instructions: Mix 1/2 oil and 1/2 kerosene in a cup and comb through hair with small comb until all bugs and eggs are out of the hair and dead before your eyes. Do again in 1 week and you will never see them (lice) again!!! Keep away from fire while treating!! This was the end off all my problems for ever-USA

Ingredients: Tide w/bleach alt, snuggle, lice comb and towel. Instructions: My daughter and I have been battling these little buggers for years. Every time we get ris of them ,,,,THEY COME BACK!!!!!So I soaked both our hair in tide w/bleach alt, for about 15 minutes. Then I rinse with as hot of water as we can handle...Rinse very good.. Soak hair in fabric softner for about 10 minutes.. rinse and comb through with lice comb..I repeated thisevery 3 days for 2 weeks...and they are now all gone...-USA

Our daughters battled with lice for years. Classmates would bring them back from Mexico after Christmas break. The public school teachers weren't concerned, since they didn't see any lice, only nits, therefore, they reasoned, there weren't any lice.

Our problems stopped when we started homeschooling.

To get rid of lice, get a nit comb, and one of those two-sided ACE brand fine-tooth combs used for ethnic hair.

Comb hair thoroughly twice a day until you no longer see any signs of lice for two days straight, then comb every other day for another week.

Wash all linen in hot water. Put stuffed animals in plastic bags and seal for two weeks.

Do not use kerosene on your scalp...It will burn.

Mayo is completely harmless but it is difficult to wash back out.

Never tried mayonnaise but I found that cheap hairspray works well. Coat the kid's head with the entire spray bottle and leave on for a few hours. Then shampoo out. I never even had to comb the nits out. It worked the three times I had to use it until my kids got out of elementary school.

I figure the sticky hairspray not only suffocated the lice and nits but also bound the lice from escaping the treatment. I think I used Aqua Net or something like that which costs about $1 an aerosol bottle.

I just happened to have some around for removing ink stains when I discovered my daughter had lice one Sunday morning. Being that I avoid shopping on the Sabbath, I was willing to be creative. It may not work for everyone, but it did for me. And my daughters had very long hair.

Spray your hair with Tea Tree Oil and water (so it smells really strong) after each hair washing every day for three to four weeks after treating and it will prevent the lice from getting on the skin/hair. They hate the chemical in it.
I do this when I get a note sent home saying 'someone in your child's class has head lice" and use it to hopefully prevent them from bringing it home to begin with.

Also do the lysol/vacuum thing and take all stuffed animals in garbage bags for at least a month.

Kerosene can be deadly.

Do not take chances with that.

Our school just had a breakout of this nasty stuff...first time I had ever seen it, and I never want to see it again. I spent a good deal of time and money working on it. After all was said and done, this is what worked.

Herbal Lice Treatment

2 oz of olive oil,
20 drops of tea tree oil,
10 drops each rosemary, lavender, lemon (essential oils)

Combine, apply to dry hair and cover with a plastic shower cap or small trash bags with paper clip. Wrap head in a towel and leave on for two hours (one hour has not been proven to effectively smother them all.)

Use a metal comb (not the plastic ones that come with NIX, RID type products. They are not as effective!) Part the hair, and comb out at about 1 square inch section at a time. Wipe the comb after about two to three swipes onto tissue or a paper towel. Work shampoo into dry hair to cut oil, rinse and shampoo until all residue is gone.

Finally, Rinse hair with one part cider vinegar, four parts water and allow that to remain on hair for 30 minutes and rinse hair clean. (This loosens the glue the lice use to attach the nits to the hair.)

To prevent reinfestation, put 20 drops of tea tree oil and 10 drops of rosemary to every bottle of shampoo you use. If you condition, you may want to add some to those products as well.

_______________________________________________________________

Adult lice lay somewhere between 4-8 eggs/day, which hatch after approximately 10 days. To make sure you are completely clear of the lice, you need to comb every 2 days (Monday, Wed, Fri, Sun…) for at least 12 days after you stop seeing lice when combing.

You can comb every day, if you need to do so. To save money, you may use pure olive oil for two days, and the herbal treatment on the third day until you no longer see lice or nits.

Boil lice combs and all brushes, combs, hair clips, etc for at least 10 minutes in water and a bit of vinegar. Do this daily to every hair utensil which has been used, and in-between users!

Vacuum thouroughly! Carpets, cars, beds, chairs, couches…Do it daily if you must. You can purchase drop cloths for your furniture, and plastic covering for your mattresses and pillows. Wash sheets/blankets every night. Wash backpacks, coats, baseball hats, scrunchies, and every item of clothing, all towels in hot water, and dry on hot for at least 30 minutes. Bag items which cannot be washed/dried on hot (or dry-cleaned) for at least 2 weeks, or until your house is clear of the lice.
