Egads, McCainiac vs Hitliary. That would be one heck of a choice. Either:
a. Hold my nose, pull the lever for McCain, and hope against odds for the best, or
b. Make my reservations on El Al (and I'm not even Jewish. Goyim, goyim, gone)

McCain emerged from his imprisonment twenty pounds heavier than he went in,

Your source...? I was not aware of that and have some doubts.

President Bush will endorse a Governor, which one remains to be seen.

McCain is a Senator, and Senators are lousy Presidential candidates. They lose.

FWIW, Mark Sanford could get the nod.

McCain? Rudy? Allen? Whoevever is standing after the primaries should get the vote. For all those who would sit out out of spite in '08, think Pres. Clinton.

I do not like driving towards a cliff at 200 miles per hour.
I do not like driving towards a cliff at 100 miles per hour.

No-one is driving away from the cliff. McLame has proved he likes to drive towards the cliff at 100 miles per hour.

Personnally, I'm not going to be a party to driving off the cliff. If someone else wants to get in the car headed toward the cliff, be my guest, just don't expect me to get in the car with you..

I will never vote for him in the primary and personally do not believe he will be the nominee. However if he is the GOP pick I will HAVE NO CHOICE but to vote for him over ANY Democrat that I know of today.

I really don't care if GW endorses him or not.

This should be a fun thread. We will undoubtedly hear some say they would vote for Hillary before they'd vote for McCain. As bad as McCain may be, I bet they'd forget that Hillary could nationalize our health care with the stroke of a pen. She could put troops under control of the U.N. with the stroke of a pen. She could effectively silence talk radio by reinstituting the "fairness doctrine" with the stroke of a pen. She could silence dissidents on the internet with the stroke of a pen. Every group or important individual who opposes her would incur the wrath of the IRS -- she has done it before.

If Hillary shreds the Constitution, who is going to do anything about it? Would she be impeached? No. She could and would do whatever she wants. She is a Marxist and totalitarian at heart. Her followers are true believes. But that's okay. Keep saying that she would be better than McCain. Can anyone imagine her Supreme Court choice(s)?

95% of political commentators on TV have the IQ of a chicken

Your rude condescending comment is over the line. You must, in order to retain any credibility here on FreeRepublic, issue a sincere heartfelt apology to the chickens you've maligned with your insult.

I no longer have the book marks, but I'm pretty sure that you can find the information on a web site, called "Running John", run by the Phoenix newspaper. It had all the details regarding all the McCain scandals. It was pretty thorough. It's true, though, you can even see the difference in his weight when you look at pictures of him from before and after his captivity. McCain was not even housed at the same facility as the other prisoners.

McCain was also accused of raping the wife of one of his fellow POWs, brought up on Congressional charges for it, but escaped punishment by claiming that the woman came on to him while drunk. The problem with that is that the woman was a tea totaller, and always had been. It's part of the Congressional record.

Some on the morning talk shows suggested that McCain is the natural successor to Bush

Who suggested McCain as a natural successor to Bush? We need to know the source of this foolish notion.

The GOP can not plausibly offer McCain as the next candidate. Giuilani stands a much better chance for success than McCain.
