Is a Bush endorsement of McCain enough to sway your opinion?

Posted on 12/04/2005 9:19:56 AM PST by cubram

Some on the morning talk shows suggested that McCain is the natural successor to Bush for his committment to the war, and that Bush will "pass the baton" to him.

My question is: if Bush endorses McCain will you think aboout voting for him? Personally I don't care for McCain for a number of reasons, but if I think he will continue W's legacy, I might reconsider.

What do you think?

Throw this into the mix. Suppose Bush and Limbaugh both endorse McCain as the best chance to retain the presidency?

I'd really have to hold my nose, and vote for the lesser of two evils if McCain gets the GOP nod.

No, I will not vote for John McCain under any circumstance. I don't trust him. His support of this anti-torture law is just another political ploy aimed at neutralizing any criticism of himself, for breaking and accepting favorable treatment from the enemy while in captivity. McCain emerged from his imprisonment twenty pounds heavier than he went in, while his fellow POWs came out emaciated.

I'd vote for McCain over Killary.

Nope. That's time for third party. If the Stupid Party is that stoopid, we deserve the Beast.

McCain would be my last choice before voting for Hillary. Surely we can do better than McCain.

hmm
Mccain:
good:
pro life
pro death penalty
opposes gay marriage
supports the war
actually has some ideas about immigration (ie does not ignore it)
war vet/ POW

bad:
Mccain-feingold

Hildabeast
good:
none

bad:
anti war
pro abortion
pro gay marriage
pro illegal immigration
hippie

now lookng at these two, I can;t even believe people here consider voting for Hildabeast, let alone think about letting her take over by NOT voting.

Personally speaking, McCain does not seem that bad.

McCain won't continue Bush's legacy. He'll betray it

Bush won't endorse him.

McCain won't make it past New Hampshire, if he even runs. He is the candidate of the old media and his support doesn't extend beyond the studios of NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN (oh, and the NYT and WaPo editorial meetings) and a few gullible and easily led sheeple.

Bush almost certainly will refrain from endorsing anyone until after the nomination is in hand because he has class and honor, unlike the last few Democrats to hold the office. However, if he were to endorse anyone it is most likely a governor or former governor, probably either George Allen or, if things work out just right, Jeb.

It all depends on McCain's whole package. The rule of thumb is this: determine which candidate you think the devil wants to win, and vote for the other guy!

No. Bush is just being loyal. I can never trust someone who sacrifices my rights to free speech to cover his sin's in accepting questionable campaign donations.

Dubya endorsed Specter, the 'single bullet theory' RINO birdbrain. So, his endorsement or lack of it means nothing to me. I wouldn't vote for McCain if God endorsed him.

McCain served his country well and while captive most likly suffered much and should be rewarded, but on the other hand while cative he may have been deprived of protien to long. So we might think of othe ways to reward him other than in a place where everyone may be put at risk.

Hillary's opposition is more important than anything Fearless Leader or the OxyCon-servative have to say.

This is a silly speculative question, but I see a lot of chest puffing around here that bothers me. I might argue against McCain during the primarys, but if he was the nominee of the party then I would vote for him in a heartbeat above ANYONE else the dems could put up. And in my book, a decision to stay at home and not vote is the same as voting for a democrat. Whatever else McCain may be, he is not an appeaser, war dove, or tax and spend liberal. Too many around here would cut off their nose to spite their face.

This War isn't about Bush's legacy it's about being able to live as Free Americans in our own country without the threat of terrorist murderers killing us off

McCain is Dangerous to the very freedoms we hold dear in this country no matter how much he banters about trying to make things fair for terrorists

Bush could wrap him up with a gold bow and i still don't think i would vote for him he's just to darn squishy
