Former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, who has joined Saddam's defense team as an advisor, said he and other international lawyers will meet the former leader later in the day to set out a defense strategy. Oh, well, he is still around.:(

Further, (sarcasm/on) the plot was uncovered by Iraqi intelligence who captured an al quaeda operative and, according to the torture rules of the Democratic leadership in Washington, tortured him with endless Barry Manilow CD's, tickled his feet and had him watch countless reruns of Ishtar.
(sarcasm/off) anyone that thinks this information was found out without the use of torture is freakin crazy. I'd be willing to bet Iraqi "interrogation techniques" utitilize methods that most of the world hasn't even thought of yet.

Maybe they could put the courtroom in a travel trailer and lug it and two others around Iraq in a continuous roadtrip. Keep the terrorists guessing which shell the pea is under. :)
Some answers are too easy aren't they... :)

This way, they can later claim Saddam received an incompetent defense and move for a mistrial!
Very clever strategy.

It doesn't say, but what type and what is the range of the rockets the terrorists were going to use? Is not the trial taking place inside the "green zone", the most "secure" area in Iraq?

How big are these rockets? Seems like they would kill Saddam along with the others. I guess their goal is to break him out??
"It will be our first real meeting where we'll have the chance to discuss the trial," Clark told AP Television News before flying to Baghdad.
When we first met him a week ago, Monday, it was very short. It was a social meeting, because he hadn't seen anybody for a long time; you don't feel like talking business.
Oh how sweet. They spent their first meeting catching up on old times

I see that this story has been moved to the back burner by Fox news in order to give us live coverage of a helicopter chasing a black camaro at low speed in LA

Hang Saddam and the rest now. Have the trial later when things settle down.
