Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
That is true, but the polls are a fact of life, and to ignore them is foolish. For months the polls have reflected the attacks against the President, and indicated that if he expects to accomplish anything in Congress, he needs to restore some of his political strength. By speaking up for himself and his policies, he is only doing what he should have been doing anyway. Apparently it took polls to alert his advisors and wake him up, disabuse him of his naive "above politics" notion of how to fight a war.
