We hear a lot about the government largesse flowing toward Halliburton, Bechtel and a handful of other favored firms chosen to rebuild Iraq. Less often do we consider the possibility that the administration's bellicosity has been a major business blunder.

This guy hit the rock too hard this morning.
^^^^^^^A U.S. Banker magazine article in August relaying the results of an Edelman Trust Barometer survey found that 41 percent of Canadian opinion leaders were less likely to purchase American products because of Bush administration policies, compared with 56 percent in the United Kingdom, 61 percent in France, 49 percent in Germany and 42 percent in Brazil.^^^^^^^^^^^^
Ok, well I'm not surprised. Look at how the pessimistic media talks about the evil bush administration on a daily basis. The iraq situation for example, if I were a frenchman and only got news about miami, new york, compton, detroit, la, and a handful of other places I'd think america was a pretty bad place too.
It's so stupid the BS these journalists(which is just another word for liberal) try to pull.
(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie.Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")
It'd be like if the sports media were telling us today how USC and Texas really aren't the two best teams in the nation.
That really would be the Twilight Zone.
This guy reminds me of the voice in the Wizard of Oz. "There is no booming U.S. economy, don't look behind the green curtain."
And I love the way he uses the standard communist talking points about globalization. Of course when he compares Bush's bad globalization to Clinton's good globalization he doesn't mention one specific difference between the two. (Like a good progressive / communist, don't let the absence of any facts get in the way.)
Oregon fans must feel like they're in it today. One loss to USC and all they get it is a lousy trip to the Holiday Bowl!?
They want to tear down America.
Explains a lot.
Has the complete Bowl list been pushed yet ?
economic woes????
Even the evening MSM news is admitting our economy is strong and growing stronger, but as usual they are predicting woe.
No but SI has a projection list.

Foreign Policy in Focus is an appendage of IPS the Marxist "think tank".
When I saw the title to this article, I thought someone had posted a vanity from DU. Then I realized that it was from the San Francisco Chronicle, which is just the print version of DU.
Thanks. I wanted to see if the Hawkeyes were going to the Poulan Weedeater Bowl again.
Engler seems to have a weak command of the English language. Largesse means "liberal giving". Giving, as in, a gift. It doesn't mean payment for services rendered.
Besides, in the case of Halliburton and Bechtel, they are usually the only companies capable to doing the jobs they are awarded.
DU has better writers.
I just subscribed to the local rag. It's the best way to have new comics, cryptoquote, crossword puzzle, and sudoku puzzles every day.
The Outback vs. Florida would be pretty good.
Hmmmm....American products...what's that? /s
