I just finished reading "Do as I say, not as I do" and Kennedy is featured in one chapter. Who knew that he owned an oil company? And is heavily invested in oil stocks?

It's an excellent book and let's hope that some of our conservative punditry start mentioning the fantastic details about tax avoidance by Pelosi, Kennedy, etc., even as they publicly state that the rich should be taxed higher.

Joseph Kennedy has recently announced that he solidified a deal with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to purchase 12 million gallons of heating oil from CITGO, the United States subsidiary of Venezuela's state-owned oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA, for 60 to 80 cents less than the current market price.

Isn't this exactly what Saddam was doing with Oil for Food?

I recall reading in the Herald that when Joe took the reins of the group, he raissed the pay from $70K to present salary, and that of others on the board as well. A typical political move in Mass; tie in the salaries of those who can stop the raise, in a way that if they vote for it their salaries increase, but if they vote against it, their present salaries drop.

Well we all know the only evil 'oil' associated corporation is Halliburton. See liberals sit atop humanity, they are the more equal than the rest of the evolutionary pyramid, and that $400,000 is a mere penance in the grand scheme of things.

Buying gas is going to get a little harder. I'm already driving past BP stations thanks to their looney envirowacko ad campaign, and now I'll be zipping past CITGO as well. Think I'll go for the ethenol blend boys, rather support Nebraska than Venezuala.

When an individual already worth millions of dollars uses a tax-free organization and self-styled non-profit charity for personal financial gain it is outrageous; however, when he uses that same charity to undermine the foreign policy of his nation his actions become diabolical. Joseph Kennedy...

Yet the kennedy's never miss a chance to preach morality to the masses of the great unwashed -- they're so superior.

1. they're getting "free" oil on the back of the oppressed, and the price is transfered on the regular consumer.

2. like with the red cross, we get the humanitarian aid but those receiving treatment must be supportive of the local thugs as a hostage "deal".

But Kennedy told the Globe he was not concerned about Chavez’s politics: "You start parsing which countries’ politics we’re going to feel comfortable with, and only buying oil from them, then there are going to be a lot of people not driving their cars and not staying warm this winter.”

http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2005/11/22/171616.shtml

Delahunt and Kennedy, whose Citizens Energy Corp. will help deliver the oil, counter that keeping poor people warm is their priority.
“I don’t report to George Bush,” Delahunt said at a news conference last week. “I’m elected by the people here in Massachusetts. So I don’t feel any particular need to consult with George Bush or Dick Cheney about oil.”

Gas is only 20 cents/gal in Venezuela. Chavez promised to use oil profits to help the poor. Yet, the % of poor has gone from 44 to 54% during his tenure. In Venezuela poor is really poor with per capita GNP at about $3,000/yr and our poverty level at $8400. How can anyone argue that the poor people of Venezuela should subsidize the welfare system of Mass and the $400,000 salary of the Kennedy director? Wasn't Robert Kennedy Jr in this racket, too?

I also just read 'Do As I say'...it's an eye-opener. People like Pelosi and the Kennedys are using their so-called 'left-wing' politics to enrich themselves.

And they are incredibly rich.

The kennedys are up to their eyeballs in oil money.

It was a MUCH better book than I'd anticipated. Well researched and filled with facts. Facts which, if publicized by the Old Media, would doom the leftists to extinction.

That's why, wherever we see articles about any of these people, we have to point out their hypocrisy and share the information.

For instance, I had no idea Kennedy was so tied up with oil money.

And I had no idea that Pelosi, who professes to love unions, does not use unionized labor in her vineyard or the hotels/restaurants she's involved with, preferring instead to use illegal immigrants.

The $400,000 salary is I bet, nothing compared to his travel and entertainment expenses.
