AMEN!

NOW IS THE TIME!

I thoroughly believe that Newt's little fiasco with his wife lead to embarrassment to support him...

But He had the right things.

we gained power because he put out a plan.. but it was not called Plan for the GOP

it was called CONTRACT TO AMERICA!

It was a promise to US! TO US! TO OUR FAMILIES!

WE NEED TO POUND THIS HOME!

Not to mention that we have seen where the leftist ideas are taking us and what it is doing to our country and our families...

YES! NOW IS THE TIME!

AMEN!

Newt was his own undoing. The 1994 election was a repudiation of the Clinton tax hikes. I liked the Contract with America, but that wasn't what changed the House over IMHO.

Newt was great before he was Speaker. But you can't go far as a Republican using a scorched earth policy. It will bite you. He created his own vulnerability. We all do, but we would like our Speaker of the House to have staying power.

Ronald Reagan was as conservative as they come. He still managed to be polite and gentlemanly in disagreement, while being firm on his ground. This is successful and it's a shame that we don't ask for more of this in the Republican party.

Yah, I agree with you. Also think Newt lost interest because of whatever else they "had" on him. He dropped out of the public eye just too very quickly. Great guy, though. I'd vote him for Prez, anytime.
