What was the altitude of the AA flight - when the "smoke trail" went past the cockpit?

I don't know of any "bottle rockets" or "flares" that can send a visible trail past a cockpit at several thousand feet.....

Is the FBI trying to cover up an attack, and keep the natives quiet??

Let's just "worse case" this. Let's say it was a terrorist, and he did fire a missile at the airliner. Chances are he didn't have just one missile and we'll be hearing from him again real soon, so I wouldn't say we'll never know what was actually fired at that aircraft.

At face value I think something really did happen. And I'm not above thinking the FBI wants to make it go away. It would not be the first time a plane was fired upon by a missle and the FBI told us it "didn't happen".

What's odd about this is that in the present atmosphere, if the pilot had reported white powder in the restroom, or found a pocket knife in a seat pocket, they would have shut the airport down.

But we have a report of some kind of rocket or missile fired at the plane and life goes on?

Its only a matter of time, you know, until one of these rockets actually knocks a plane out of the sky and the feds can't deny it...or blame it on a spark in the fuel tank.

When it happens, it will be verrrryyyy interesting listening to the American hating liberals try to spin the event....and watch them as they try to convince everyone that they didn't really mean it when they were pushing for us to cut and run from Iraq.
