Actually the only sane policy is never to pay ransom to kidnapping terrorists, because it only encourages them to do more of it.

This would be true even if they kidnapped some completely admirable and innocent Americans, or even if they kidnapped one of our troops or a diplomat. You can't bargain with terrorists.

Of course in this case their demands are insanely over the top, and the victims are not really innocent. They went over there to make trouble for our country and our troops, however naively. We should certainly try to rescue them if we can, but we cannot pay blackmail or ransom.

I completely agree. I will say that I think they're puddin' heads, but I'm not convinced they're doing this to hurt our nation. Yes, they'll be propaganda fodder for sure, but I think they're woefully ignorant lemings. If they had a lick of sense, they would have avoided what has taken place.

NO! You do not pay ransom. Sorry folks. You stuck your neck out and unfortunately for you, someone took you up on it.

Do they have enough ammo? Do they need us to send them some more?

The poor fool useful idiots will be butchered by their Islamic captors...never realizing until the end, when the grizzly sawing starts in that they have been hood winked and used...and that the very people whose side they were inclined to take in this struggle, hate them and their ilk as much as they do any of the rest of us.

Their handlers will continue to decry America in this...until the day comes that they too perhaps are taken and slaughtered by the enemy they foolishly and ignorantly are trying to use for their own political and ideological gain.

I'm surprised that Sindy Sheehan isn't there with them as well. She's missing a golden opportunity to criticize President Bush!

The only time the Left cares about "Christians" seems to be when they can be used as fodder in their war against Bush.

I say to the peace activists, "God bless your soul and may the spirit of the Lord be with you and may Jesus be with you in your final hours. Peace be with you."

I cannot imagine how horrible this must be for the families. I hope they had this horrible possibility in mind but probably not, things had been better lately. The Bible speaks of many horrible beheadings in the last days. I hope they will not suffer the terrible fate of others. Our prayers will be with them.

I simply cannot believe that we can't find four former American war heroes to offer to take the place of these unfortunates. You know, someone in the twilight of their careers, and just dying to do the right thing? The names Murtha, Kerry, and McCain come immediately to mind. Who can think of a fourth?

I don't like the idea of our military personal being placed in danger because of this. The left wing peace nicks wanted to be close to the Islamofasists, and now they are. It was their death style choice, and everyone else should just stay out of it.

I'll go as far as allowing that it is a law enforcement problem, and so the Iraqi Police should be the ones worried about it.

Our troops, though? No way.

I was just trolling around over at DU (blech!), and came across an interesting post at the following thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x5507101

In post 10, DUmmie OKDem08 offers prayers for the "peace activists" taken hostage in Iraq. Wonder if OKDem08 has ever offered prayers for the troops?

It makes no sense to me. If they are for peace, then why would the islamofascists want to harm them???? I can't believe peace and appeasement and friendly dialogue won't work. I just can't believe it. A topsy turvey world.

You're right. It makes no sense. Maybe if some of the Hollywood antiwar crowd could go to Iraq and join these 4 they could explain to the terrorists why it's all Bush's fault, and how they just want peace. If that doesn't work, Kennedy and his "cut and run" friends could join them... I'm sure the terrorists want to work with these oh so nice people.

Liberals, remember, when you give terrorists love, they'll give love back. Give understanding, they'll give that back. But don't swoon or lose your head... Cause they won't give that back.

My prayers are out to anyone under the islamo's hands. At least the Japanese during WWII made sure their Samurai swords were sharp and any be-headings were swift. The Bushido shunned the ones who couldn't behead in one swift stroke. The islamo dogs don't. NO person no matter who they are deserve what Nick Berg and others have had to go through. I hate the islamos, I know evil...

"He said the irony is delicious. Not that their deaths would be, and yes there is a fine line there.

I think it is dangerous to consider these people innocents. To me they are allied with the terrorists when they make claims that if it were not for the "occupation" that they would not be in harm today. I think they are misguided idealogues at best, and at worst traitors to their religion (if they are indeed practicing Christians) and to humanity. To place zero blame on the terrorists, and 100% of the blame on us is laughable.

This is telling: There was not a PEEP from these people when the rape rooms and shredders were having their way with Saddam's victims."

The Brits and the American are traitors. They have actively sought to give aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war.
