I can predict the first words to come out of the Dems' mouths if an investigation is started against Murtha...

WITCH HUNT!

"Murtha threw the US military under the bus to distract attention for his questionable dealings."

And for that I hope they hang him high!

Col. North said that Murtha was about to be investigated, and that His Smear of our Military was a Diversion so when the Crap Hit the fan, the media would cover for Him by saying that the investigation was in retaliation for Murthas attack on the American military.

If True, Murtha and the Democrats, Especially Nancy "Pinko" Pelosi are seditious Traitors
at Best.

But don't worry Maddame Bin will tell John Kerry what to say next week about it.

Reference: ABSCAM. It would appear Jack old boy is not so honorable as one might imagine. A continuing saga between honor/honesty and human frailty.

Sheppard Smith just now had a temper tantrum while taking up for Murtha. I have vowed to no longer watch a SS show on FNC..

Yes, SS is very lucky to have a job.

Rarely can I watch him for more than ten seconds.

I will say it, Murtha is a coward, traitor, enemy spokesperson, propagandist for the enemy and has it wrong!

Exactly right. John Murtha, meet Benedict Arnold, another war hero. I'm sure you two will have lots to talk about when you meet each other....

Murtha is a fraud and Nancy Pelosi helped Murtha come up with this pull out of Iraq idea .. per Harold Fineman

IMO .. this pull out stunt was nothing but a cover

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/10118733/site/newsweek/

(snip)
Which was precisely what the Democratic leadership wanted Murtha to do. A close ally, Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, was anxious to open a second axis of attack on Iraq—and was aware of his growing antagonism toward the war. The two met and agreed that he would make his case in private to the party conference. After that, on his own, he would introduce a resolution calling for withdrawal of troops from Iraq "at the earliest practicable date." Pelosi and the other liberals would keep their distance, while their own Marine charged up the Hill. Framed by long rows of American flags at a press conference, he denounced the Iraq war as a "flawed policy wrapped in an illusion."

Benedict Arnold was a American hero before becoming a American traitor.

Sure looks like this is one less then honorable Marine. To err is human. But Darn, there has to be a rule book to follow when dealing with American tax dollars.

So, today he is saying that the military is broken, and it will take $50b to resupply it. I'll bet he has the defense contractors in mind who will get those contracts, too.

Some of my old Marine buddies tell me the worst thing a Marine can call a disgraced Marine to his face is an EX-MARINE. They say it is the most humilating thing of all.

You know that I'm just an old Army Cav. guy, so I can't call Murtha that, but I've heard some of my buddies say it.

Yep! That's what it looks like. Sell America out for a few dollars. You can't go much lower then that.

It is truely sad. Sometimes I write stuff I later regret saying. It is so easy to bash people and make comments like they aught to be shot etc., in which I am guilty of saying.
As we all know Randy "Duke" Cunningham fell pray to similiar shortcomings. We all fall short of the glory of God, and are sinners. But I guess it just comes down hard when we hear about those that served often with distinction to let their guard down and fall into the pit.
We most likely will never know why this Marine has acted as he has in full.

////////////////////////////////////////////

could it be that dems are trying to co opt the war issue and spin the US victory into a defeat. by using the withdrawals as the lever. If we turn Iraq over to Iraqis in the next 6 months, and start to draw down, which is quite possible, the dems will say that we are really drawing down troop levels because we lost and the republicans are just spinning iraq as a win. Dems will then campaign on "we ended the war with our persistent anti-war movement, and thats why the troops are home.
