asserting this week that the U.S. Army is "broken, worn out" and "living hand to mouth."
Our brave Soldiers just dug up 4,000 mortar rounds and 11 500 lb bombs!!
Murtha is an Old Senile war dog. with NO Military expertise.
Just a grunt. and a stupid Liberal one at that.
Your right, Murtha is a senile dog. We had a guy named McGovern who had been a WWII bomber pilot (40 Missions) and ran for president as a commie loving dove. I am always amazed that real fighters can become such viginas like he and Kennedy and others. I think that the love of power and lucre has a lot to do with it.
And John Murtha's assessment of the Army as being "broken" is based on - what? Not enough draftees? Doesn't "reflect" America? The mixed gender experiment isn't working out? The war materials are not available? Soldiers are not trained well enough?
Com' on, Jack, TELL us what's wrong. Then as a Member of Congress, DO something about it. FIX the Army. GIVE them the appropriations and authority to carry out their duties. Tell all your colleagues to get on board, and make this a joint effort to REALLY support the troops.
The tendency has been to state disagreement with the President's policies by chiseling away at the quality of our armed forces, and this is a very short-sighted policy. One of the reasons that the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001" did not, could not, pursue any serious course of containing al-Qaeda during the 1990's, was that he was not sure of his leadership capability, and he knew the military was emaciated and unable to satisfactorily carry out a difficult combat assignment, as there would be no support. No matter what Wesley Clark may have been telling him.
I take offense at the grunt remark. While your assesment of Murtha is correct, I would never place Murtha in the same class as the honored grunts . Most grunts are smarter than you would think. The reason a lot of grunts do their grunt job is that they know it is a necessary and proud job. It may be dirty but we can get it done.
