Embattled Republican Senate hopeful Jeanine Pirro will hold an "emergency summit" with Gov. Pataki today as she weighs pulling out of the race against Hillary Rodham Clinton. A leading Republican official said Pirro was "weighing her options, weighing her future as a Senate candidate."
The source added, "She wants to hear what the governor has to say about this. She's open."
Pirro, whose troubled campaign was thrown into serious doubt this week when state Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno urged her to run for attorney general instead, sought the meeting with the governor to discuss the direction of her campaign, said Pataki spokesman David Catalfamo.
Another longtime GOP activist dubbed the session an "emergency summit" because "the Pirro campaign obviously is in desperate need of emergency attention."

Man, when you're counting on Pataki to be the voice of reason, you're in huge trouble....
Anyways, I think something is up within the NY Republican ranks.
WE WANT RUDY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Her early plan was to see who stepped forward for the Repubs. Obviously, Pirro didn't ruffle her plan. (Cox was a Watergate foe and I would choose him over Pirro)......But whatever is up....Well, the smartest woman in the world may be "outfoxed".
My thought has been right along that she would step to the podium (at the request of the Party) and NOT RUN for a second term...that any Dem could win the seat thanks to NYC...so why waste her time and money on a second term and "risk" defeat if Guiliani should run.
I also saw a bit part on the "Commander in Chief" show....where the dame said that 4 years in the Senate was enough. There are clues everywhere....like she hasn't been on Timmy Russert's show in a longggggggg time. Ya know...
