The GOP is going to lose BIG in 06 and 08. Stupid Maroons! Don't they know that a big majority of red state voters are totally against this 'guest worker' program. Then they'll blame the voters.

After the "guest worker's" time expires, what iron-clad guarantee do we have that he will go home? The more important question is how to add 15 million applications to an immigration bureaucracy which is (a) 1.5 million apps in backlog and (b) incapable of taking any new apps.
This is an outrageous and unfair insult to the thousands with legitimate and legal apps outstanding (e.g., my wife and I - one native 1680 and one naturalized U.S. citizen - adopting a baby from abroad).
Think of all the legal apps - some of which have been outstanding for 10 years++ - and justify 10 million illegal, lawbreaker "guest worker" apps from Mexicans.

I have no idea whether or not Chertoff is up to the job, buy I do know that the PRESIDENT doesn't want the job to be done that the American people are calling for. President Bush & his one-world minions are working for the eventual elimination of our borders. You can't rise to high positions in either the Republican or Dim parties w/o having such beliefs....those on the political Right who try are called "isolationists", "vigilantes", "racists", etc.

We need to take a hard look @ whether or not the 14th Amendment was legally ratified in the first place....I say it wasn't (& while we're @ it, we should do the same for the 16th & 17th Amendments, too!).

Think back when Congress was debating the creation of the Dept. of Homeland Security a few years ago: did you support it then? Personally, I didn't think it was necessary. A few changes could have been made to existing agencies. The federal government has too many irons in the fire--it has an agency or department to cover practically EVERY aspect of American life when the Constitution clearly gives it VERY limited & specific functions. We should be ELIMINATING federal agencies & departments, not creating more of them!

So where is the pressure for illegals? It's not "big business", it's obviously not the unions, so.... only PC politicians??? Corporate hotels are a big supporter of relaxed immigration rules along with corporate farms and construction.

"If we don't have a temporary worker program, I think it's going to be extraordinarily difficult to ask our Border Patrol agents and our ICE agents to stem the tide that is driven by a huge economic engine of employers looking for people who can work [in jobs that] won't be done by Americans," Chertoff told reporters during a briefing on the administration's Border Security Initiative. "BS ALERT! BS ALERT! DANGER!!!DANGER!!!!
And now, the next "Big Tent/Big Gulp" Beverage that "Americans won't swallow anymore"
Sorry, Jerkoff Chertoff...America has become a " OBL-Moron Zone"
We are past the tipping point here! This is like the child caught doing something bad, and the lies get bolder and more wild as they flail around to find a way out of being caught and punished!

There was a story out yesterday the GOP is scared to death they're going to lose Congress next November. I can't think of a better way to ensure that than to pass an amnesty.

MI,
I was just getting ready to ping you to ask YOUR opinion on the matter.
Thanks for your input and those who serve the USBP faithfully. Shirtoff is apparently parrotting the correct Administration line.

When is W going to finally realize II is a No-No in any form? Build a fence, bus them to the border. Solve our current crisis, then we talk about further legislation.

Not totally unexpected. Even though they are Republicans, they are still politicians first and foremost. It was only a matter of time before they sold us out.
I think I will be voting for somebody else next time around.

These people from Bush's administration and Bush himself are pathetic. I have two words for them: Anchor Babies. Do you get it now, Bush? Every Mexican who comes in here plants an anchor baby within five minutes of his arrival. That baby will become an American citizen who will receive all kinds of benefits paid for by the American tax payers. Also that baby will keep the Mexican here for the rest of his life.
Don't tell me these lies about a worker program. It is pure hogwash and Bush and Chernof know it.

Lets not be looking for any help from Chertoff because there won't be any. What he is useful for, however, is as a gauge of what the Bush policy really is, all Bush speeches to the contrary notwithstanding.
The Bush policy on illegal aliens is pathetic.
