Benedict Arnold was a real war hero (Murtha served, but not heroically).
Benedict Arnold ended up trying to help the Other Side.
Murtha is absolutely helping the Other Side.
Everyone today considers Benedict Arnold a traitor. Even the British disliked him.
Murtha may have been a patriot. But he's a Traitor now. It's a mistake to say "He served. He's good. He's a patriot. Blah, blah, blah".
He's a traitor. Republicans should cut him no slack.
Murtha = the new name for the early onset of Alzheimers.
As for Murtha...I figure that the lunatic from Vermont who runs the DNC pretty much told Murtha that he'd better come out against the war, and do it publicly, or the DNC would withhold funds from his campaign and or actively campaign against him.
Murtha is absolutely a traitor. I have the feeling that if the MSM continues to give him attention, then more traitors will be born from the democrat party out of envy.
"Well, yesterday, Murtha was at it again. Speaking to a group in his district in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Murtha said that troops will leave Iraq in the next year because the Army is "broken, worn out and living hand to mouth." Such a vote of confidence!"
That may fly with his liberal friends, but in the rural areas of PA people are going to know people serving in Iraq. I know many of them would rather be somewhere else, but they are not broken, worn out, or living hand to mouth.
Our forces are overwhelmingly winning every battle. They do lose people to terrorist attacks, but they are winning the war there in any measurable sense.
The only way we can lose is to quit.
The Iraqi military is starting to take over. Bush isn't going to turn tail and run. Before Bush leaves office the Iraqi's will be taking a lead role in providing their own security.
We will win in Iraq.
Folk Murtha.
After listening to all the praise/respect directed his way this last couple weeks one would think he'd won the Medal of Honor.
Damn, where were the Murtha's speaking out against the war against Hitler and Tojo? They should have been there keeping us from sacrificing a couple of million killed and wounded just to save European countries and their colonial empires. (scarism off)
I defend you're right to call Murtha a traitor, just as I defend Murtha's right to say what he is saying. BTW, he earned a Bronze Star with a "V."
Calling him a traitor reflects on you, not him. How's that for Free Speech?
FOLK HIM INDEED BUMP!!
Working to withdraw from Iraq, giving up on freedom and democracy in the Middle East and letting the Terrorists know that we won't stand up to them reflects on him, not me.
I don't see where you gave up your right to free speech. Did Murtha?
I just called the traitor a traitor.
You also said he did not serve heroically. Do you know what the "V" on the Bronze Star means? You're also awfully loose with the word "traitor."
Regardless of what he did in Vietnam, he's running his mouth and doing his best to do damage to our troops and our country now, whatever his motives are.
Timothy McVeigh served his country honorably in the Gulf War too. Does that make what he did in Oklahoma City honorable?
Past good actions, doesn't make present evils Ok.
For that matter, Lee Harvey Oswald was a Marine. I guess his actions later in life can't be questioned either, huh?
Now you're just being silly. Are you comparing Murtha to Oswald and McVeigh?
I'll give you this - you didn't call him a trator.
I'm using extremes to prove a point.
I'm absolutely calling him a traitor for his current actions.
