Attention, Dr. Frankenstein, and maybe Gloria Steinem: There are girl brains, then there are boy brains. But there's not one generic human brain, no matter what hand-wringing feminists may insist in their quest for sexual equality.

    Some stark new clinical evidence shows that men and women are just not the same upstairs.

    "The comedians are right. The science proves it. A man's brain and a woman's brain really do work differently," a research team from the University of Alberta in Canada announced yesterday.

    After analyzing magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs) of 23 men and 10 women, the team found that the sexes use different areas of the brain even when working on exactly the same task.

    "The larger implications of this work is that we may increasingly find out that there are differences in the 'hard wiring' of male and female brains," said study author Dr. Peter Silverstone, a psychiatrist.

    Though Dr. Silverstone hopes that these revelations will lead to more innovative ways to treat depression and other mental illnesses, these findings might one day explain certain persistent behaviors that make for a more lively existence.

    Why do men, for example, refuse to ask for directions while women are busy peering at maps and landmarks during the same automobile journey? Why do women cry and men sleep through a sappy movie? Could it be that old hard-wiring?

    During the Canadian study, volunteers were given memory, language, spatial and coordination tests while their brains were monitored through the MRIs.

The interesting part is, in relation to what I was saying earlier, is that all the problems in the home are almost exclusively the fault of the men, and consequently; all the problems in the nation. (It is no accident of chance most convicts in prison are male.)

Elaborating, men being the hunters, protectors, have become feminized through the homosexualization of sex with pornography, passiveness in the face of adversity through the proliferation of intoxicants (marijuana is a great effeminizer), they no longer stand up and actually fight for themselves or the best interests of the family, nor do they seek a cohesiveness of the family...

The fact that this country is at war with a ruthless, psychotic enemy should be an indication to any reasoning male that the petty entertainments engaged and frivilous stupidities argued are really a distraction. No flames, because there does exist some evidence to back up your assertion. When the male embryo is exposed to increased levels of female stress hormones (including extra estrogen), it interferes with normal male development in utero.

Also, I worked with a gentleman who was a biochemist in Bolivia. His research pointed to environmental chemicals playing a part, for most pesticides are estrogen-based.

Biologically speaking, the male is far more fragile than the female. In fact, the "default" gender is female. If something goes wrong during pre-natal development, the baby will become female, and genetic testing (usually after a couple has tried unsuccessfuly to have children) will reveal the presence of the Y-chromosome.

We have "advanced" to the point where, as you wrote earlier, that people must look for increasingly bizarre and risky behaviors to reach the previous high. This one point alone, is a remarkable bit of insight.

It used to be that both boys and men would seek solitude, perhaps at the ol' fishin' hole, simply to think. Great character development came from these times spent alone wrestling with issues only divulged after much consideration and a final resolution were reached.

But I blame the advertising industry most, for they have created needs where none existed before. Just days ago while shopping, I noticed a line of men camped out in front of Best Buy, waiting for the next morning to arrive so they could be the first to get the new X-Box.

Their families (if they had any) needed them at home...just to be there, if for no other reason. But here they were, putting a mindnumbing game ahead of all else.

It seems as though "Consume and don't think" is the new mantra.

Men have a section in their brain which has a better "compass" in it than women have.

Men needed it to find food and get back home.

In that same space, women have yet ANOTHER "communications" section.

Women needed it to be able to multi-task while her mate was out finding food.

Thank you, that is one of the stupidest stereotypes around. After I first moved to L.A., I routinely asked people for directions when I needed directions like I did when I lived in Missouri. The only difference was that people in L.A. are really poor at giving directions. It is a big place. Then I got a Thomas brothers guide to the local streets - big help. Currently, I love map quest. Type in an address, and get really good directions. Interestingly, I rarely get lost.

I would not discount it as a contributing factor, especially considering the hormones in cow's milk (BGH), but I would also not name it as the sole or major cause either.
