I love this line.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^the Constitutional Court (truncated) effectively stayed its ruling for one year to give the Parliament time to amend a 1961 marriage law to reflect its decision.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This court is a liberal's dream. This is exactly what they wish they could create here in america. Where judges = legislators and legislators = elected figureheads.

Gee, South Africa - AIDS, Rape capital of the world, poverty, class and race warfare. And coming soon, gay marriage. Well, that oughta help them out of the mire they've been in for more than a few years...

It's good to see how well South Africa is doing, now that blacks are in full control of their destiny...

That's okay with me, so long as they have full ownership of the consequences and don't look to evil white devils to bail their sorry asses out of their problems..

This is similar to the ultimatum given to the Massachusetts legislature by the Mass. Supreme Court.

And, not by accident, the woman who is currently "Chief Justice" of the MSC is the former South African lawyuh, Margaret Marshall .

So we can see where her notions of "constitutional government" come from, and note that they are totally inconsistent with the American Constitution, in that they amount to the Judiciary issuing ministerial orders to the legislature.

IOW, the inmates running the asylum.

Both Massachusetts and Vermont, as well as the Canada supreme courts, gave ultimata to the legislatures on this issue.
