If people can't accept the reason for Christmas, they shouldn't celebrate it at all!
I almost wonder if they planned this.... first generate controversy by banning Christmas, then "responding" to consumer demands.
It has a variety of dates.
a Christmas tree.
Walgreen's website has a 'holiday shop'.
No Christmas.
Target also threw out the Salvation Army don't look for them to climb back on board any time soon.
But what do you expect from a French company.......
I find it fascinating that Target uses traditional red and green Christmas colors in its current advertising, but it can't bring itself to say something as simple as "Merry Christmas".
It is my experience that wishy-washy policies that "embrace diversity" end up representing nothing. Target will find that it can't have its cake and eat it, too. Sooner or later, they will have to take a stand. I guess their "diversity" policy is their stand.
Too bad. I used to enjoy shopping there.
My vehicle is sporting a shiny, new "Jesus is the Reason for the Season" magnet that I bought at Kmart. Kmart "gets it."
The Kroger policy makes sense.
Look, I have no objection to using a variety of greetings. What I object to is just flat banning Merry Christmas.
Happy Hanukkah to you.
I'm so GLAD to hear Walgreens saw the light! I was boycotting them til now! I love Walgreens and I buy all my prescriptions there so I'm very happy to hear they have had a change of heart!
I driopped a few bucks into a salvation army pot tonight at Krogers and the Gal said Happy Holiday to me i turned around and said Merry Christmas to you
She Absolutly lit up with Joy Merry Christmas she say's in a happy voice and a very Happy new year sir I said same to you
It wasn't much but i think i made her day i know it made mine to make someone smile !
I've boycotted Target for almost 20 years, ever since I found out they were giving money to Premeditated Butcherhood.
Last year I said to my children (44 and 53 years old) - "Maybe this is the last year we will be allowed to celebrate CHRISTmas." It would sadly seem I was pretty close to right!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY FREEPER FRIENDS!
Myself, I haven't been in a Target store since last year when they ran off the Salvation Army.
Part of the reason I have no problem with Happy Holidays during the time between Thanksgiving and New Years is the fact, there are many holidays during that period. As Chrismtas draws close, I say Merry Christmas, or have a nice Christmas. But in the twixt times, I will say something to the extent of have a good Holiday Season, or I hope your holidays are enjoyable and so forth. In some cases, too much has been made out of "Merry Christmas". If Christains are really serious about the true meaning of the holiday, they would stop the gift giving craze and instead focus on the holiday as one more prophecy that was fulfilled. But instead, Christians want both sides of the aisle......Christmas recognized and gorging on the commercial holiday.
TJMaxx is another store that doesn't celebrate Christmas but wants your money.
They have Happy Hanukkah signs and Happy Holiday signs. They don't mention the word Christmas in their stores or in their advertising.
I emailed them a few days ago about this and so far have received no response.
Now is the time for Christians to reclaim Christmas. Jesus was not born in December but in April. We need to celebrate His birth then and let the pagans have December 25. In the same vein, we need to change the name of Easter to Resurrection Sunday and observe it on the day history tells us.
BS! Hope they enjoy this years boycott, next years will be bigger.
