China's Sun Guoshunis said his country was already cutting the polluting emissions, adding it was unfair to expect China and India — with the world's largest populations — to ask their impoverished people to cut back on energy consumption.

But, the UN recently came out with a report on how bad poverty in the US is??? How can they possible ask impoverished Americans to cut back on energy consumption? /s o.

Seriously, why do I doubt that impoverished Chinese actually consume that much energy. Hmm..Something smells fishy. I think it is unfair to ask the US as one of the world's most efficient producers to cut back our efficient manufacturing.

"We really feel pity that the U.S. has not yet, and is not going to join the Kyoto Protocol...

America feels it is a pity that China has not yet, and will not recognize basic human rights and freedoms and will lock up their citizens for openly practicing religion.

....not only because of the size of its total emissions, but also because of its higher per capita emissions,"

I think that China, who does not produce nearly as efficiently or as clean as the US, should STFU!

More than 8,000 environmentalists, scientists and government officials were attending the 10-day conference in Montreal.

Man, I can't even begin to imagine the hysteria or hot air generated there!

"Hey Mom, have you seen my patchoulli oil? I need to freshen up to go to a giant UN Environmental convention??"

Holey moley. The PRC has chutzpah. They know very well that Kyoto favors China and India and has a higher bar for the USA and EU.

China Urges U.S. to Sign Kyoto Protocol

Even if I knew nothing else about Kyoto, this would be sufficient reason to reject it.

...driving the US further into a web of restrictive environmental regulations that cripples our industry, giving China more of an advantage in manufacturing and trade.

HaHaHa!!! Kyoto exempts the Chinese so they can pollute and overtake us with impunity. that's one of its major defects. This is like the devil encouraging you to stop in that bar for some fun before hitting the road again.

Hey Commie, here is what we are going to do. We will sign Kyoto but we will place a tariff on Chinese Goods and Extra Taxes on Chinese Companies to match the cost to our economy. This way we both contribute.

Man the Chinese back a set of big stones.

Unrestricted emissions from China are polluting the Artic and they're telling everyone else to sign up.
