The appointment of Susan Kennedy as Chief of Staff to the Governor is a betrayal of the hard working activists that supported the Governor during the recent special election. Kennedy has a track record as an active partisan Democrat that has worked contrary to Republican candidates and beliefs.
Those of us who supported the recall of Gray Davis now find one of his top operatives, Susan Kennedy as the leader of Schwarzenegger staff. Not only did she work for Davis, but Kennedy is plagued by her involvement in the Oracle scandal.
This is a dangerous false start for the Governor, not a fresh start.
The California Republican Assembly Board of Directors will be voting on a resolution calling for the California Republican Party's withdrawal of their pre-primary endorsement of the Governor.

If you knew a damned thing about how the CRP ran the last several senatorial elections, you'd know why Boxer is still in office. Feinswine has played it fairly intelligently and is a much more formidable candidate.
You are correct in one concept - it is the fools in the California Republican Party that have allowed themselves to be ignored.
Obviously, for Arnold to have depended on them to actually push through the needed changes was a mistake on his part.
Unlike certain perpetual losers, Arnold understands that you don't keep playing the same bad hands - sometimes you have to reshuffle the deck in order to win.

Were right, and ARE right - any other choice would have given us complete Liberal Democrat control. The lack of support by the far right-wing is what has caused this loss again.

He learned that California conservatives don't support him, even when he proposes what they allegedly want. So he's building a political base that doesn't include conservatives, who might support him in the conservatives' stead.

True - the reality is that their dream was crushed by those conservative voters who DIDN'T support props that would have advanced their ideals because they did not come from a source they deemed "acceptable".
It is more like Arno has always ignored California Conservatives but what would you expect from a RINO that has been weaned from the breasts of the Kennedy Clan.
To say Arnold has been a total disaster is to grossly understate the magnitude of this particular train wreck.
But, don't forget, it's a good thing we didn't vote for that "unelectable" Tom McClintock...
FairOpinion, I think you know that I tend to agree with you much of the time about California. Unfortunately, this is one time when I disagree -- politely. Why? Because I firmly believe it was a huge mistake to dump Gray Davis in the first place. All that did was take the heat off the Democrats.
Arnold is not orders of magnitude better than any Dem when he surrounds himself with Leftist Dems, which he has been doing ever since he got elected. He's been a disaster for the Republican Party in this state. At a time when the party desperately needed rebuilding, he's done next to nothing to help. If anything, he's made matters worse by (1) acting almost as though he's ashamed to be a Republican, and (2) being just enough of one to have Republicans blamed for his failures.
I think we need to let the Dems totally take over again. As big employers like Nissan and the movie industry leave the state, citing the cost of doing business as the reason, the electorate here will eventually come to a fish or cut bait point. They will have to make a choice between having the state sink into total chaos or dumping the Marxists up in Sacramento.
Someone like Arnold only blurs the stark choice that the electorate in this state must make sooner than they realize.
