I'm sure you got other responses. There is no way this would work, as follows:
1. People often profess belief but don't really believe (which is why only God knows).
2. People would do it just for the day off.
3. It's a national holiday already which means you get it off, period. Just like if I hate America, I still get the 4th of July off, or if I think Thanksgiving is DUMB, I still get it off.
By the way, I don't think Thanksgiving is dumb and I love our country.
I know it wouldn't work, it just bugs me that people so offended by the very word (the horror) get that day off
