Virginia Gov. Mark Warner yesterday granted clemency to convicted murderer Robin Lovitt, commuting his death sentence to life in prison and so delaying the 1,000th execution since the U.S. Supreme Court restored the death penalty in 1976.
However, a spokesman for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) said Americas landmark 461,500th murder since 1976 should proceed on schedule.
Our clients and future clients tell us that the domestic murder industry continues to be robust despite a decline in production in recent years, said the unnamed ACLU source. Americans should not worry that the stalled death penalty rate will hinder these persistent, hard-working citizens from carrying out their work with dispatch.
Indeed, recent polls show public confidence in the efficiency of Americas killers has been bolstered by softness in the justice market.
Pinging the usual suspects!
(anyone wanting on or off the satire ping list, let me know!)
might be scrapple's best work yet...
Murder procedes ahead of expectations.

ROFLMAO
He must have watched Geena Davis last night - I declined to sully my cable wires, but Laura Ingraham was ranking on this show pretty heavily today...
These Death Row guys have a golden chance to get into the record books and still they screw around with appeal after appeal like a bunch of wussys. I personally think Juan Corona deserves the accolade.
And how many murders of innocent babies have been carried out during the same period? The ACLU have more than outdone the Nazis of Auschwitz, they are no doubt approaching the death toll record posted by the Soviets and CHICOMS.
This is why I love living in Texas...we know how to off our murdering freak-a-zoids! No quarter to them! The Has-been media whines, but our governors have some....and don't mind killing the killers of babies and innocents.
461,500 murdered sine 1976?!! It's a quagmire! The United States needs to end its illegal, immoral and unjustified occupation of North America and withdraw immediately!;)
