I fail to see why virgin birth implies divinity.

God could, for his own unknowable reasons, choose to have one of his prophets born of a virgin without that person necessarily having to be God himself.

It doesn't imply divinity. My point was more that if one is willing to lower their standards of rationality enough to believe that there was an actual virgin birth, any additional story surrounding the virgin birth e.g. that Jesus is the son of God should be equally plausible regardless of the claim. If you are going to bother believing in the former, the latter isn't much of a stretch.
