If the Brits had only called it the "Winter Holiday" instead of "Christmas" it might not have offended the Moose Limbs so much! /s

The suspect was being questioned last night at Londons high security Paddington Green police station. Sucks to be him.

From UK - thanks for the post and the kind words. Thank God the plan was foiled. How much good our (and your) security services do often goes unnoticed (sometimes it has to for security reasons).
Strange but true, Ian Blair is under fierce attack here and has gone public saying that he might have to resign - over the inquiry into the shooting of the Brazilian chap on the tube. Heck it was a tragedy - an my heart goes out to his family - but in war (and this is) these things happen. Learn the lesson, dust yourself down and get on with it.
After the 7/7 here the spotlight is on our police! It makes you want to weep.... When all is said and done there is much more support for USA here than you would believe from the media - the chattering classes make all the headlines. Warm regards,

Good news, although I'll wait for charges to be pressed before celebrating too much. There have been plenty of occasions when arrests such have these have been made, loudly trumpeted in the media and then, a couple of weeks later, everyone has been released with rather less fanfare.

Fine work by Great Britain's police -snip- They work very hard to keep everyone safe......many hundreds of lives may have been saved in this one action alone. Excellent work! What a blessing. They have my thanks. And the thanks of so many of us here in the US and in Britain who do get how serious it is despite the Sheehans of the world.
I'm curious, they call the perp a '28 year old Asian man'. Is that just PC media talk for a Muslim of Pakistani or Indonesian descent? I see the MSM might just be the same in the UK as it is here.

The British-born Muslim was kept under surveillance for weeks by Met chief Sir Ian Blairs anti-terror cops and MI5 agents. This is the best part .... they know who he's been talking to, and so they know who those people have been talking to, and so on.
I expect that this is merely one of many arrests.

Not the first, or last time, a plot like this has come to light. They are keeping up the attempt to bring down civilian aircraft with shoulder fired weapons, and (keeping out of the TWA 800 debate for a now) inevitably will succeed sooner of later, bringing about huge loss of life in a major population center even if they do not launch multiple synchronized attacks.
Unfortunately protecting aircraft as they come in for final decent, or right after takeoff, is extremely difficult, and the countermeasures installed on some aircraft fall short during these times in the flight cycle. And they know it.

A 28-year-old Asian man was snared as he allegedly tried to buy a rocket launcher near the M25 South Mimms services. Now, class: Was this Asian man a MUSLIM, or was he a Buddhist?
Or perhaps he was one of those damnable Amish.

Police marksmen trained their weapons on him as he was told to spread his arms. Steady on there, chaps. I mean he's only a terrorist.
This happens at routine traffic stops in this country.
The fact that The Sun thought it necesary to include this sentence at all, tells me that the British police must usually be extraordinarily polite and deferential when asking people for their bona fides.
