Meanhwile, for the first time in my life, I am speechless.

Incredible.
McClintock's crazy eyes are probably really going at this news.
I have not been very complimentary of Arnold in this forum. He is pro-abortion, pro-culture of death, and he has done a lousy job balancing the budget. Sure, he just got voted down in the referendum, but that was after a couple of years of doing nothing very useful about the California economy.
Frankly, if this is true, it doesn't entirely surprise me. Thank you, Gerald Parsky. Thank you, Karl Rove. Without your manipulations, we might have had Bill Simon in office.
"... Governor has decided to name Susan Kennedy as his Chief of Staff."
Not Susan Davis!
A little more background on Susan from 2001:

Susan Kennedy
Wielding power behind the scenes
Gov. Davis' Cabinet secretary finds her calling in Capitol

This would be like W replacing Rove with Al Gore.
[blink]
In the immortal words of Dirty Harry......
Swell.
Somebody's got pictures this time.
Is she a "Kennedy" as in his in-laws the Kennedys?
I hope this is like bad tasting medicine intended to counterbalance the political fall out from the left when Arnie lets Tookie fry.
"help me understand why this appointment should not be interpreted as the big kiss-off to the GOP base."
He only used the GOP base to get elected. Arnold is one of five GOP governors that belong to the Main Street Partnership.

Arnie is a straight talker- this seems to be mistaken for him being conservative. He is NOT by any means.
He defies our image of a liberal because he talks straight and doesn't have to play the media for favor- the people already like him....
Plus- he gets the whole managing money thing.... But he is no conservative.. not really even a Republican... besides- is this Kennday chic any relation to his in-laws?
My point... why is anyone shocked! I mean I get a kick out of the way he talks to the CA politicians- but he sertainly doesn't inspire any confidence in him as a conservative man that shares my values...
/just sayin'
Sounds like something stinks in Sacramento...
We need a RINO day in Sacramento.
What is next? Tookie as attorney general?
maybe aRnold likes Kennedys whispering in his ears all the time
And let us not forget that Ahhnold is considering commuting Tookie's death sentence.
This is why I have no time for "big tent" RINOs.
