I'd be interested to read what you have to say about zonealarm, also. I have it, and almost always get some zonealarm-related error (vsmon and others) at shutdown.....I'm so sick of waiting for scandisk to run at reboot....

Go to the following site and download Kerio Personal Firewall. Then, uninstall ZoneAlarm and install the freeware Kerio Personal Firewall:

Well, nothing good. I was having all kinds of problems and FReeper saveliberty checked with her in-house techie who said its a Checkpoint product and they have all kinds of difficulties with it. They do not recommend it. I finally uninstalled it and things are for the moment much better.

I had so many problems with Zone Alarm that I finally got rid of it and installed the Sygate Personal Firewall by Symantec, available on Tucows here:

I've not had a problem after having it over a year now.

While on the subject of great utilities, may I also recommend AVG Anti-virus:

And for the good news, they're both free for the personal editions.
