I usually enjoy carrying on an intelligent debate.

I follow the rules on FR and argue the subject, instead of making personal attacks.

Those who can't debate, make personal attacks (IMHO).

He has failed to enforce the law; which by-the-way, happens to be his primary job.

I would like to call to your attention the fact that your statement above is completely false.

It is his duty to follow the law.

It is not his duty to enforce it.

We have an entire justice system and LAW ENFORCEMENT at all levels of government.

If we take your argument as you made it, then a President, any President, is GUILTY unless everyone in the US followed the law during his term in office.

Your statement is absurd.

So, you lay out a plan, with duedates, with costs, and get the Congress to pass it, and you show it to us, and I will believe the President is diligent in his duty.

It is not my job to do their homework....they along their college graduates in their employ/staff, from various fields, the ability to hire out for services, whether that be in salaries/grants, from the millions of dollars taxed upon U.S. citizens each year, they can do their own homework as to the details, for which they have had AMPLE time but are, nevertheless, found lacking.

The responsibilities of elected officials to do the jobs for which they were elected (hired) do not become null and void because of their unwillingness and ineptitude. Nor does it become null and void by making strawman charges of dropping it at MY feet so that I, or other unelected individuals, bear the burden, and individual cost, to do their jobs. As if they would even give anything more than lip service or wink at anything done by a private citizen concerning something antigonistic to their own agenda (which is NOT enforcing immigration laws or the border).

The borders are more secure than they have been since WORLD WAR II, maybe more. There are more men on duty on the border.

If they were secure, there would not be MILLIONS of illegal aliens pouring through the border, yearly.

The bills passed in Congress limited how many men could be added over time. Are you gonna just break the law?

Anyone in law enforcement, or in charge of law enforcement, is already breaking the law, and the Constitution, by not securing America from the ongoing invasion. Moving people around like pieces in a game of checkers, especially in non-strategic manners, isn't adding to force numbers or enhancing American security.

Bush Kool-Aid. Funny.

However, I have been investigating and following the changes made and inspired by the Bush Administration, and my support of President Bush comes from hard facts, and documented results.

Your argument consists of trite slurs, and you have failed to provide any proof of your reason for arguing against my post.

All those griping about the border now are just like the whines of the DEMS over any complaint they could find or generate, while ignoring the successes right in front of them.

When President Bush ends his term, if there is not another strong, dedicated, and lawful person elected in his place, this country will find it's pace DOWNHILL quickening.

Everyone wants President Bush to immediately solve the 'one' certain problem they see, and yet each see it differently. And none of them have a solution, other than mouthing the words "close the borders".

I'll tell you what. If things are that simple, then you should be able to do this. Starting tomorrow morning at sunrise, and continuing until the next morning at sunrise, you are on SILENCE and can not talk.

BET YOU CAN'T DO IT.

Since we do not manufacture all our "goods" in the US, and since other countries have the same limitation, many companies are international, and there is plenty of cross border jobbing/trading/trucking/selling.

Just where do you think all the stuff you buy at WALMART comes from?

Borax Queen is not the President of the United States, or a Governor, who has at her command, either Homeland Security, the Border Patrol, the re-named INS, the FBI, the National Guard, the Sheriffs' Departments, and a host of other law enforcement personnel or staff.

Yet another strawman demand.

As I keep saying.

You lay out a better plan, and get approval from Congress, and I'll buy what you say.

CLOSING THE BORDERS simply is impractical. There is no 'gate', no 'keys' that close the border.

Many an impregnable castle wall has fallen prey to invaders.

And the biggest indicator of how this issue is being hyped and sucked up by FREEPERS is the ignorance of what really constitutes our borders.

Everyone that says "CLOSE THE BORDERS" only wants the border with Mexico closed, and mainly to immigrant workers.

What about the other borders? Not all Terrorists would attempt to come in from Mexico. From what I understand, it is the hardest to get through.

NO MORE FISHING IN CANADA. ALL THOSE who live along the northern border and work in Canada will have to quit and find new jobs.

Are you prepared, IN YOUR PLAN, to help those people????

Not so. And glad you brought that up.

The San Diego Wall: The Joke's On You

Now, what WOULD work? Why, it's really quite simple. Ask the Israelis, they KNOW what works. A simple and cheap (but highly effective) multiple fence system, with a plowed tracking strip and sensors. Such a fence would permit the USBP to observe the smugglers moving around on the other side, instead of shielding them from view like the Awesome San Diego Wall.

I assume you saw this article:

Voters Won't Fall For Bait-and-Switch

by Phyllis Schlafly
Nov. 2, 2005

Chertoff told the Senate committee that he already has "aggressive efforts underway" to ensure that employers who violate current laws "face appropriate punishment." Really? At least ten million illegal aliens are now working in the United States, but only three employers in the entire nation were fined in 2004.

In his Saturday radio address, President Bush bragged that "we've doubled the resources for work site enforcement since 2004." Does that mean we can expect six employers to be fined next year?

Obviously, Chertoff has no plans to do anything about the ten million illegal entrants who already entered illegally and are now living across the country from Maine to California.

It's hard to take Chertoff's promises seriously when they are prefaced by the false braggadocio that "President Bush has placed the utmost importance on border security." The latest 28-question opinion survey circulated to donors by the Republican Party does not include even one question about illegal aliens or immigration, further manifesting the Bush Administration policy of sweeping this issue under the rug.

Why bother debating the Quislings? Every word they post is a lie. They know it, we know it. Their agenda is not what they say, they are flying under false colors, they are false flag freepers.

Quisling: a synonym for traitor, someone who collaborates with the invaders of his country.

But at least they keep the threads bumped, and every reply means 15 more lurkers read the article.

Maintaining the integrity of the nation's borders is a federal issue. It falls under ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and is part of Homeland defense. The buck stops at the President's desk.

Arcadia: He has failed to enforce the law; which by-the-way, happens to be his primary job.

UCAN'TSEE: I would like to call to your attention the fact that your statement above is completely false. It is his duty to follow the law. It is not his duty to enforce it.

Sorry, quisling, but Arcadia is correct; every citizen is charged with obeying the laws; the Executive Branch, however, is charged with enforcing those laws, via the powers bestowed upon it through its office (but you already know this, as I've and other FReepers already told you this....though you would like to ignore such; thanks for playing, though, as it bumps the thread and allows for opportunities to continue posting links so lurkers and others can read and educate themselves to the truth regarding the dereliction of duties by the President and those members elected to the House of Representatives and Senate, as well as those members of law enforcement who are not enforcing current Immigration Laws).

BTW, the President is the boss of the chief law enforcement officer, the United States Attorney General.

Upon entering the Office of President of the United States, he is required to swear upon the following oath:

Oath of Office for President

US Constitution, Article II, Section 1

Before he enter on the execution of his office, he shall take the following oath or affirmation: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."
What is the law?

Federal Law--Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

"A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he: assists an illegal alien she/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or encourages that illegal alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.
The United States Constitution defines
ILLEGAL ENTRY:
USC 8 Section 1325 states

"Any alien who:

1. Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or

2. Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or

3. Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under Title 18 or imprisoned not more than six months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under Title 18, or imprisoned not more than two years or both.

(b) Improper time or place, civil penalties - Any alien who is apprehended while entering (or attempting to enter) the United States at a time or place other than as designated by immigration officers shall be subject to a civil penalty of

(1) at least $50 and not more than $250 for each such entry (or attempted entry); or

(2) twice the amount specified in paragraph (1) in the case of an alien who has been previously subject to a civil penalty under this subsection. Civil penalties under this subsection are in addition to, and not in lieu of, any criminal or other civil penalties that may be imposed.

(c) Marriage fraud - Any individual who knowingly enters into a marriage for the purpose of evading any provision of the immigration laws shall be imprisoned for not more than 5 years, or fined not more than $250,000 or both.

(d) Immigration-related entrepreneurship fraud - Any individual who knowingly establishes a commercial enterprise for the purpose of evading any provision of the immigration laws shall be imprisoned for not more than 5 years, fined in accordance with title 18, or both.

ILLEGAL HIRING: Section 1324a states: "Any person who knowingly hires/harbors/transports any illegal alien is guilty of a felony punishable by 10 years jail + $2000 fine per illegal alien + forfeiture of the vehicle or property used to commit the crime".

AUTHORITY TO ARREST Section 1324c states: "All officers whose duty it is to enforce criminal laws shall have authority to make arrests for a violation of any provision of this section" (affirmed US v Perez-Gonzalez 2002 Fed App 0360, 6th Circ.).

SHARING OF INFORMATION NOT RESTRICTED Section 1644: same title states, "Notwithstanding any other provision of Federal, State, or local law, no State or local government entity may be prohibited, or in any way restricted, from sending to or receiving from the Immigration and Naturalization Service information regarding the immigration status, lawful or unlawful, of an alien in the United States." (affirmed Southern District Court of NY, US v Rudy Guiliani, 1996).

By extension, then, you are the one that is responsible for the millions of illegal aliens passing across the Mexican border yearly.

I want you to put a stop to it immediately.

If you do not, I will do my best to have you arrested for failure to follow the laws of the United States.

Do you understand?

Thank You for the response.

Some use the fact that my screenname is in all caps as a justification for their actions. Whatever excuse works.

None of you have the cahunas to get off your ass and do something, but find it convenient to sit back and armchair quarterback the office of the President of the United States.

To do as you expect, President Bush must ;

Run the operations of the White House staff

Oversee the operation of the Federation and all it's agencies.

Have meetings with national and international staff and advisors.

AND

Investigate any wrongdoings of any citizen of the United States, but specifically those that certain Freepers find injust.

Arrest and jail the perpertrators.

Prosecute them in a court of law.

Take them to jail.

Take a shift at the jail, nights will be OK, since you have a day job.

GET REAL.

The man performing the obligation and responsibility of the office of President of the United States is doing what evidence shows( the economy is UP/the sky isn't falling) is a pretty dam good job.

But he isn't God almighty.

All of you that think that being President means that the entire US is at the disposal of your personal whims, or would even respond to them, are placing yourself in the company of William Clinton.

And none of you have a 'plan' for solving the border problem that has passed the smell test. You each only address one facet of the problem, and in very few locations.

But, hey, Thanks for taking the time to communicate.

I do appreciate your opinion, especially if I disagree.
